...If the UK leaves the EU then Germany will be the one and only boss in the EU.

Nixon once said "if i want to talk to Europe, who do i call?", refering to the point that there was no one politcal powerhouse who can exhert the needed political and economic clout back then.

Since 2008 however things have changed - when Europe was in economic trouble, who did they call - Germany. When Russia annexed Ukraine, who dis Obama seekout specifically - Merkal (Germany) and again more recently who did the new Ukranian President want to become more involved in the crisis with Russia - again Merkal (Germany).

Wether the UK (or any one else for that matter) likes it or accepts it or not - there is only one realpolitik now. Welcome to Europe, and its capital isnt Brussells, its Berlin.

It can be imagined.

Easily.

I'm not sure that the EU is really quite the problem that people like to say it is. But the EU is falling over in its PR because it is too obviously a club for centralising power and so lacking a proper image of being a servant of the peoples of Europe.

Germany says one thing but does another. Nobody really wanted Juncker but everybody wanted something out of this so the horse trading has started. If Germany really wants the UK to remain in the EU then it would have redrawn the support for Juncker but of course they did not want to lose face.
It is Germany that profited from the Euro, it is Germany that with the imposement of austerity kills off competition elsewhere in Europe. If the UK leaves the EU then Germany will be the one and only boss in the EU.

British media and analysts believe that the country is "closer" to ending its membership in the EU.

Cameron will never call for the UK to leave the EU. This latest Junker business seems to be just a paper tiger so Cameron can appear to be tough on the EU. We have seen empty words and contrived arguments from Cameron before, this is just another. Cameron is a member of the EU elite and will represent the EU's interests.
Cameron says he will wage a "long, tough fight" to reform Brussels before campaigning for Britain to remain in the EU in an in-out referendum he has promised to hold in 2017. This statement is irrational and laughable. Anyone with half a brain knows that the EU elite are moving in the direction that treaties empower them to do. There's nothing to negotiate, the question is a simple one: The EU will eventually become a single nation with regional cantons (England, Germany, France, etc) all under the rule of an EU president, all using the Euro and all under the same rules with no opt-outs.For scout Dave and other members of the treacherous mainstream political/media circus to claim that they have a way of milking tortoises or changing the colour of sky is arrant nonsense.
The German minister is a well known Euro-fanatic who has somehow airbrushed the 20th century history. What about the eurofanatics Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Napoleon etc. These ideologues failed with disastrous consequences. All the EU is another ideology which will end in tears.
