Russia is about to become embroiled in a conflict that will make Chechnya look like a Serbian wedding. Putin is so preoccupied with Ukraine that he fails to realize how close is the true enemy. The enemies of Assad and Putin are now marching North to the border of Russia. Serves Putin right! The U.S. will sit back an watch Putin frantically try to put out multiple fires at Russia's doorstep. Vlad is about to be hoisted by his own petard.

Has anyone taken the view the ISIS Jihadists are acting according to a well coordinated plan devised by the US pentagon and Nato head quarters?
Since the US/EU/Saudi/Qatar/Israel/UK have been supporting and continue to support these very same ISIL "Syrian rebels" in the fight against Assad in Syria, it stands to reason that they are partitioning Iraq on behalf of this very same group of sponsors -- the columns of shiny new trucks, the weapons, ammunition, fuel, etc., have obviously not bought and paid for themselves. This is an organised invasion by an army, not an impromptu raid by a pack of wild cavemen. Someone is managing it, providing intelligence, leadership, training, weapons, ammunition, fuel, logistics, air support, funding, etc.The logistics of taking and holding multiple cities across several hundred miles in two countries are not easy to grasp. The partition of Iraq was always the ultimate aim of the US neocons with the Kurdish region staying under the wings of the US-thus the US oil companies operating in Kurdistan and supplying and training the Kurdish army.
The partition of Iraq has already happened.

You can only shake your head, laugh out loudly and say the United States of Halfwits has done it again.
The Washington simpletons have armed insurgents to fight against Assad in Syria and when the going gets tough in Syria the religious looneys turn their attention and take nearly half of Iraq and now that the Washington simpletons have created a red hot mess and they want Iran to help them. I wonder if they know who Iran is? Yes its the same country the US has had sanctions for over two decades.
The American are truly the laughing stock of the world.

They just might get Iranian help but not without stop arming (and order their Saudi allies to stop funding & sending) the very same cuttroaths to Syria.

How could such a thing be pulled off given the elephant in the room (occupied Palestine)?

The only thing US really cares for is israel and although Al CIAeda and ISIS somehow always fights for US/israeli interests, there is no guarantee that israel wont be next. Another thing of course, of minor concern for the US for now, is €Uropean muslims turned wahhabi´s fighting for the aforementioned returning "home" to go on there. That also applies to another US warfare intervention which €USSR should start worry about: "Ukraine" (Banderastan). There are a lot, probably several hundreds, €U neo-nazi "stormtruppen" fighting for Banderas heirs as merc´s there. US has a track record of loosing control over it´s terrorists...

USA has spoiled relations with every regional power that can help with Iraq. Those are Russia , Syria , Iran , Turkey and even Saudittes. Kurds are still under the Russian influence while the Qataris irritate everybody around. So now it’s the US turn to kiss asses. Why not start with the Iranian one ? Good choice. But it won’t be enough and it will have sequences. You cannot arm the Jihadists in Syria and fight them 300 km away in Iraq. Like drinking and whistling at a time.
