With his threat that Britain might leave the EU if Jean-Claude Juncker is made head of the EC, David Cameron seems to have angered German politicians.

"I want the EU, but not in its current form. It certainly should not just be a vehicle for implementing German policy. "

A bit late for that, Bob.
In November 1991 in Maastricht, Netherlands, EEC leaders gathered to consider future integrations into EU.
Among other things Yugoslavia was on the agenda.
France and UK, among some others were reserved towards recognition of former Yu - republics, especially Croatia, where not even minimum minority rights (for Serbs) were met, according to OSCE rules. Germany was resolved - Croatia has to be recognized NOW!
United Germany huffed and puffed, and in the end forced their view on all others.
Not only on this matter, but on all others, essentially Germany got everything they wanted and all bowed to their influence.
EU was extended hand of Germany since.
Cameron this or that, France this...who cares?
One doesn't talk to servant but to the master. If a small country wants favourable changes in EU policy towards it, they have to talk to the Germans...

I think Svabo has been living in another planet or is just able to recite the same old ant British bile time after time. The British didn’t even join the EU until 1973, decades after it was started by the core group of 6 countries. Britain isn’t in the Euro, so has no influence on euro policy. So where’s the plot - in your imagination?

The whole EU and especially the euro is a plot of the british empire to ruin continental europe. They are just member for alibi. They sometimes say yes but then they do the opposite. Ffs they rule half of the planet. If you think they would ever accept orders from brussels or merkel you must be completly insane.

You can just hear Cameron and the Globalists begging the EU rats for crumbs of reform something to take back to their voters before they get their asses fired in the next election. At least the EU has never lied about its eventual intentions of full economic and political union. Those to blame are all the British politicians who for decades deliberately lied to the British people that the EU was just a " trading bloc " and nothing more. However ,the common belief that he British would be the first to exit the EU is nonsense. The reality is the British elite are traitors to the British people and are probably the most pro-EU politicians in Europe. None of the mainstream parties has any intention of offering a referendum on EU membership, which shows just how pro-EU they are.Furthermore, even if Dave grew a pair and decided to move his referendum forward the EU won't blink because the UK is expendable-outside the single currency and not fear of contagion effect. It's France the EU is scared of.More people agree with Le Pen, that France should come out of the cursed euro and return to the once proud French franc - if only Germany will give France permission to do this.France cannot afford Schengen either-most EU countries can't.From the dry wastes of Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria, the tide of human "opportunity refugees" grows more daring and their numbers will climb to millions.I think the tide has turned and we have now moved to the last stage of EU dissolution.

They want to blackmail Britain into accepting something that the voters are increasingly indicating they do not want.

I want the EU, but not in its current form. It certainly should not just be a vehicle for implementing German policy.

Neither should the current structure stand.

National parliaments should send elected MPs from their parliaments to run the EU. As things are, the European Parliament is too distant from the national politics of constituent countries and fails to act as a body that brings countries together. We don't need the European Parliament in its current form.

The people at the head of the EU are appointees - it is a stinking structure too far from the people it supposedly represents. That needs to change drastically.

Cameron wants change, and many voters do too. There are lots of voluable voters who want out - if things don't change, they may win. Cameron is right to seek change, and those who do not want change are putting the EU at risk.
