Amfilohije is quoting out of context and are far from reality. His views are biased towards Russia and other countries which are faithful to Orthodox Christianity.
When you mix religion with politics you create a poisonous brew.
His remarks only create even greater divisions.

Amfilohije said that Bildt's statement had to be mentioned "in front of the face of St. Basil (Vasilije) of Ostrog", adding that the Swedish official said that "the biggest mistake of the modern Russian government and Vladimir Putin was the return to Orthodoxy, which is worse than the Islamic terrorism that appears in the east."

Russia and Putin returning to Orthodxy? Ridiculous. Just in Islamic countries, the religion is only the vehicle for the autocratic leaders and their corrupt friends and families. Criticizing them means criticizing god. In their behavior, Erdogan and Putin are very similar. And Russian population seems to easily fall for dumb nationalism and 'religiosity', just like a lot of the uneducated Turks do.

Would someone be kind enough to post a link where the Swedish foreign minister made those so called remarks concerning Orthadoxy beig worse than Islamic terrorism. I have yet to see them in any media - western or otherwise.

(by the way - this is whats called "Checking the facts". A concept all too often ignored by certain segments of this forum.)

Russia is very serious. It makes not many statements but working in many directions to prepare for the long lasting war in all spheres. Yesterday we warned Moldova and declared prepayments terms for Ukraine. Today Russia forbids GSM navigation on our soil so everybody will have to use our GLONASS. Also today Russia has forbidden selling our rocket engines to the USA. It’s been a month that Russian companies withdraw their money and other actives from the west. New contracts are signed in rubles for oil and gas. By the way oil gives Russia 7 times more income than gas. Besides the EU blackmail over the gas has already failed after Austria and Bulgaria stood by our side last week. Russia has almost turned the Ukrainian gas peak into the EU Commission’s asshole and now it’s EU problem to keep up the Nazi.
Russian people inside and outside Russia get ready to suffer discomfort and losses to win this war. But ultimatums very often are the last demands before the first step backs. So EU will soon seek ways to stop the confrontation. I guess Putin is not gambling over small stakes and EU scalp is the minimum he is to be satisfied with. His backfire will be a heavy strike whatever it will be. I saw no signs we are to retreat somewhere. One way or another we have already torn away 9,5 million of the Russians in Crimea and Donbas. Now I believe we are to kill Kiev economically and nothing can save the junta. So on May 9 when none of the EU bastard presidents greeted Russia.

Exactly where and when did Bildt say this? Like somebody else implied, it is most likely just a lie to make up imaginary enemies.

On another note, there is no progress in the gory images being spit out by this "man of god" at those who follow him. We have gone from "may all the flesh fall from your rotting body" of a few weeks ago to "people being burned alive". He should be a director of horror movies. He could make more money for the Serbian Church faster than all the lands and property owned by it.
