Croatia "won't put malicious obstacles" in front of Serbia

This is not true. As a member state, Croatia has the right to halt the brakes on Serbia's EU membership. Other nations within the EU may pressure Croatia to be the "bad guy" and say no to Serbia's entry while the others could still pretend as if they support membership. All it takes is one.

In the mean time, Croatia will use the next few years to slap conditions on Serbia such as practically recognizing the war in Krajina as Serbian aggression, the Ustashe as anti-fascist freedom fighters and all kinds of other conditions.

The worst part is, this march towards "EU membership" makes as little economic sense as it does political.
