Russia marks Victory Day, "demonstrates military might"

My best wishes and congratulations to everybody who feels joy over the Victory Day ! First of all to those whose grandfathers were the brothers in arms of our grandfathers!

For better understanding of how the parades in Russia are organized one should know that 3 big commanders are always directly involved to such parades :

1/ Commander of the parade. In 1945 when the first such parade took place it was Marshal Konstantin Rokossowski , the favorite Soviet commander of Polish origin. Later the commander of Moscow Military Region used to command the parade. Today it was Deputy Defense Minister.

2/ Acceptor of the Parade. In 1945 it was famous Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov. Like Rokossowski he too rode a horse. Later horses were replaced by special ZIL autos while Defense Minister has always been accepting the parades of Victory.

3/ Head commander. After the parade is over the Acceptor of the parade reports to the Head Commander that the parade has been hold. Such a multistep tradition appeared in 1945 when Stalin phoned Zhukov and told him that he (Stalin) was too old to ride a horse so Zhukov was to accept the parade.

Such are the parades on the Beautiful Square most often translated as Red Square. Besides in all big regions local parades are held. Traditionally they start in Vladivostok 7 hours before Moscow parade.

Congratulations on Victory Day over the fascist West(Germany was in 1945 only one side of the same Western Catholic coin!)

After the parade,declare war on Ukraine,make so called "Ukrainians" catholics flee to Poland and settle Ukraine with Russians to be 100% Russian!
Afte that,Ukraine,just as Belarus and Kazakstan should join Russia!

Russian Federation should be renamed into Republic of Russia,sounds better and unified!

The goal should be to establish a giant etnic pure,orthodox Russian nation state!

Hope you guys make it into Balkans like in 1944,we Serbs will be waiting for your liberation!

Haha, quite to the contrary... Only a country that feels insecure about its military might has a need to demonstrate it in parades.

Does Russia allow their gay members of the military to march in a seperate group leading the parade as Serbia does. I'll bet the rest of the world is shaking in their boots.

Such a naive statement!!! Iron will with empty stomach and without weapons liberates nothing :)

Who, btw, was purged and tortured by Stalin in 1937 during his purges against the Don Quixote windmills (similarly to many other top generals). No wonder the USSR was completely unprepared in 1941 and millions of Soviet Union soldiers and civilians paid with their lives the "genius" of comrade Stalin. And not just that, but they continued to loyally serve him during and after the war. It goes a long way to really show the mindset of the populace in that country which continues even today.

Nice... so that Russia can also dismember Serbia like it is doing with its Ukraine Slavic brothers :)
