Adrian Gashi, why would Albania need to be liberated? It wasn't overrun by the Nazi army, it WAS part of the Nazi army.

You act as if people on a Serbian website don't know history? Why do you come to Serbian website anyways? I've never been to an Albanian one, nor do I have any interest to... do Albanians even HAVE websites? (like, maybe someone else made one for you guys???) I dunno... all the Albanians I ever met weren't exactly what I'd describe as tech savvy.

And you think Albanian soldiers were better than Serbian? Oh you mean like you were in Kosovo? lol... or maybe cause Albanians are such good athletes... wait... what sport are you good at again? Anyways... I think you see my point.

Sorry, truth hurts.

guys, come on... somebody has to be naive to not know that neither the Albanians nor the Serbs liberated their countries by themselves. Germany was retreating already because of the Americans and Soviets forcing it to retreat not because of the Albanians or Serbs. The fact that the Americans and Soviets were not physically in Albania and Yugoslavia is immaterial.

Hey Rocky - Your revisionist attempts to equate Serb wrongdoing with that of the Croats, Albanians & Muslims during WWII (all of whom fought with the Axis powers) is an old and tired bit.

The facts are that the Serbs fought the Axis powers against insurmountable odds and when the army capitulated, they formed the 1st resistance group to fight the Nazis, the Chetniks.

Fact: Serb Chetniks saved over 500 downed US airmen. How many did your Albanian brethren save? None.

Germany bombed Belgrade relentlessly. How many bombs fell on Albanian lands? None.

Serbs resisted the Nazis. Albanians embraced them.

Milan Nedic was implemented by the Nazis while the overwhelming majority of Serbs resisted the Axis either in the form of Chetniks or Parizans. How many Albanians resisted the Nazis? None.

The Nazis didn't have to implement anyone to lead the Albanians, they were willing participants in their killing machine.

Try as you may to twist history, there will always be those out there who will speak the truth.

Run along now, you're boring all of us.

Albania was one the few countries in Europe to be entirely liberated by its own forces. No allied armies ever entered Albania. Not only that, but the Albanian National Liberation Army, went on to entirely liberate Kosova, and parts of Montenegro and Southern Bosnia. I guess the Yugoslav Partisan movement was too week to achieve the same objective.

From wikipedia:

Tirana was liberated by the partisans on 17 November 1944 after a 20-day battle. The partisans entirely liberated Albania from German occupation on 29 November 1944. The National Liberation Army, which in October 1944 consisted of 70,000 regulars, also took part in the war alongside the antifascist coalition. The Albanian partisans also liberated Kosovo, and assisted Tito's communist forces in liberating part of Montenegro and southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.[4] By that time, the Soviet Army was also entering neighboring Yugoslavia, and the German Army was retreating from Greece into Yugoslavia.

Hey pen, before pointing fingers and accusing others, one needs to look at the pile of rubbish on his own doorsteps, and believe you me, you have a lot more rubbish then you would like to admit to! For every claim you make, there are counter facts, that more then evens the scale!!! The propaganda still in use in Serbia, is stale & outdated! Maybe you should learn some real facts, before making childish accusations, enjoy penny!

@ Rocky;

Isn't it typical of an Albanian militant to politicise a solemn occasion. Is nothing sacred to you people. What has fadil hoxha (anyone ever heard of him?) got to do with victory day. Albanian contributions to the war effort against Nazism were virtually non existent. Enthusiastic collaboration was more the order of the day. Under cover of Italian occupation Albanian irregulars set about killing as many Serbs as they could. (And as we saw recently, old habits die hard) Providing an SS division, Skanderbeg, was another notable achievement to the Allied war effort.
I think a dignified silence would be more appropriate when it comes to Albanian wartime history.

According to figures released by a state commission of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, more than 1.7 million people were killed in Yugoslavia during the war, including over 300,000 combatants.

However, this 1.7 million included all ethnic groups former & artificial Yugoslavia! And we all know quite well, that Yugoslavia had many ethnic groups both large & small, these groups also sacrificed much for the liberation of this area of Europe! Here is one that may ring a bell!
