"At that time rule of law in western parts of Ukraine was laws of some gangs and bandit groups who self-proclaim own Premier and attack and usurp state institutions. And since they had support by NATO, Yanukovich didn't dare to disarm these groups. "

True, all so similar, but these groups didn't kidnap journalists or replace public TV broadcast with Fox News or BBC, as far as I know.

“Impunity for assailants of journalists and broadcasters is escalating the tensions and contributing to the deterioration of the security situation. I am dismayed by the lack of response by the law enforcement authorities to these attacks. Rule of law must be re-introduced in Ukraine,” said nobody few months ago.

Rule of law in these parts of Ukraine is currently the laws of some gangs and bandit groups who self-proclaim own mayors and attack and usurp state institutions. And since they have support by Russia, nobody dares to disarm these groups.
