Archbishop of Zagreb Josip Bozanić has said during Easter Mass that "nobody and nothing" can stop the canonization of Alojzije Stepinac.

Stepinac was a controversial figure - he supported the fascist Ustashi regime, many of his clergy participated in the persecution of Jews, Serbs & Romani communities, he supported the forced conversion of orthodox Serbs to catholicism, and encouraged the Ustashi to fight on against the Partisans towards the end of the war. Canonised? Wow.
