Comm Parr,
Everytime you post about how it is in Kosovo, I get the mental picture of a person looking out the window in a run down trailer park calling their neighbors "trailer trash".

"Chances are it will not actually cover any connections to mafia then or today. In order to do so you have to have a conviction of said mafia individuals and those are not war crimes but more the domain of the International Criminal Court. "

That's what it makes it so complicated: These persons and groups were more or less the same: First, under Serbian rule, they were ordinary drug mafia clans, like they exist(ed) in Serbia, too. Then, in the trouble of ex-YU wars, these mafia groups turned into 'freedom fighters' (though the freedom they were fighting for was more the freedom to do their drug business without being harassed by police than the freedom of the ordinary people living in Kosovo). After the KFRO intervention, they use their chance to make money again, with the organ harvesting or simply stealing property of Serbs. Even later, these groups and people became political parties and politicians in Kosovo, and now they 'govern' this state - which became Europe's main drug hub and a regional center of human trafficking under their rule - until nowadays.

A disgrace on innocents, this court will be!

Yes it will be, as many Albanian war criminals will probably either walk or be given token sentences.

On this Easter holiday, I wish & pray one thing, may the good lord & the almighty punish Serbia & her future generations for what they deserve, on his terms and in their own way, justice for the innocent Kosovare victims, and justice & the restoration of glory to the defenders of Kosovare soil, the way, the almighty can only serve it!!!

A disgrace on innocents, this court will be! Had the republic of Kosova & her majority population sent in mig fighter jets, 100s of tanks, 100s of heavy artillery, pieces, 50-60000 of its best trained troops, which were armed to the teeth, into Serbia proper, Serbian soil, killing innocent people, woman children elderly, by the 1000s, burying them in mass graves, barbarically raping their daughters, razing their homes to the ground, mass deporting 100s of 1000s into neighboring countries, then this court would have been justified! However, Kosovar citizens were only protecting themselves, their hones & property's on their ancestral soil, with the very limited supply of weapons that could be gathered, against the Serbian onslaught that the entire world new an advance, was sure to come! I am quite sure, that every Albanian freedom fighter, which defended their homes, lands, and family's within Kosova's borders, will have their good names cleared of these Serbian sponsored & financed allegations! The entire civilized world was a witness, to Serbia being the sole perpetrator of these horrific crimes, she & she alone is the guilty one! On this Easter holiday, I wish & pray one thing, may the good lord & the almighty punish Serbia & her future generations for what they deserve, on his terms and in their own way, justice for the innocent Kosovare victims, and justice & the restoration of glory to the defenders of Kosovare soil, the way, the almighty can only serve it!!!

under the auspices of UN.

Let me see if I have the truth right, The EP commissioned Dick Marty to look into the matter and see if there was actually a reason to go beyond the previous UN sponsored investigations. The EU commissioned an investigation into the matter based upon Dick Marty's EU report. The EU wants to set up a special tribunal aside from the UN one that investigated and dismissed the crimes.
Now the UN has a tribunal in place and it investigated the crimes and dismissed them, then the UN civilian presence UNMIK investigated the allegations and said they found no credible evidence. Upon the release of the EP report the UNSC discussed the matter and took no action.
Now, YOU want the EU to stop and let the UN take over the matter?
Doesn't sound to me like "the truth" is actually what you are after.

It is an insult in that the world attaches the stigma that this in a court being created to handle organ trafficking cases, but the reality is that it is to handle war crimes and other serious criminal activity occurring primarily in the immediate post war time, which would include any organ trafficking that may have occurred.
Now to what this will entail no one knows at this point. But it will mainly consist of activities of the KLA and possibly actions of any Serb military, paramilitary, or police actions that took place between the time they were suppose to leave and they actually did leave.
Chances are it will not actually cover any connections to mafia then or today. In order to do so you have to have a conviction of said mafia individuals and those are not war crimes but more the domain of the International Criminal Court.
My theory is that it will cover acts of small groups of KLA but no system wide groups. I doubt it will include Ramush Haradinaj, as he has been cleared by the ICTY twice already and the court will probably not tackle those cases as they have been ruled by a higher court.(But since this court is based on Kosovo law and not international law it is a possibility).
There is also a huge possibility that the investigators will announce that they have found no evidence on the organ trafficking.

Thaci is a good lapdog... he continues to obey and do just as he is told."
(Roger7, 18 April 2014 19:47)

Even worse, he makes a total fool of himself by stupidly ranting against a court which should finally investigate in KLA war crime cases (which would have been needed already 10 years ago) while calling to support it. Would have been smarter if he kept his mouth shut, but what do you expect from Thaci?

The Truth

pre 10 godina

Wow. Thaci gives perfect reason why a court dealing with the numerous unpunished KLA war crimes cannot work when being located in Kosovo, but these cases must be tried in The Hague or anywhere else, under the auspices of UN.

The Truth

pre 10 godina

The first thing such a court should do is to start investigations against this Mr Thaci, and, like it is usual in Kosovo, put him immediately in detention prison for at least 30 day. This guy is disgusting!
