Putin runs with the West !.

Russia speaks softly in Geneve but,
Firm and Hard in the Protesters in Eastern Ukraine.

Ukraine has only two options,

accept loss of Eastern Ukraine by Democratical means or by the same means that Ukraine Herself Used to come to Power and Rule or,

As bad loosers in poker,
Rise the Ante with Violance.

I think Ukraine will chose the last option.

The conflict will spread to the Whole of central Europe,
and Hungary will come for Vojvodina.

No one doubts that Nooland was right to estimate the potential of the Europeans as F*CK THE EU to say nothing of the Ukrainian junta the US imposed on this country.

You're right. The unelected bureaucrat Ashton was just there for the photographs as the EU was not really a serious participant in the negotiations. The deal is really between the USA and Russia. At face value this deal looks reasonable and one wonders what the Western political leaders were playing at.Putin has achieved Russia's aims with minimal bloodshed. Eastern Ukrainian regions will become autonomous and then vote to join Russia. He will have the naval bases that he wanted - without having to pay tens of millions in rent per annum any more, the industry in Eastern Ukraine and he will have saved the cost of bailing out Western Ukraine financially - which will fall to EU now.He will also retain the buffer zones that he wanted. Putin must be a shoe in for the Nobel Peace Prize this year, not only did he prevent the west becoming embroiled in Syria and Iran he has now put paid to a Ukrainian adventure for the west too. They could take back the ones awarded to Obama and the EU and give him those as a just reward

Russia can trust no one of the 3 counterparts coz all of them have discredited themselves for many times. I watch the detective story with an interest because my people on both sides of the temporary borders is involved. But I also try to guess why Putin agreed for such a format negotiations. No one doubts that Nooland was right to estimate the potential of the Europeans as F*CK THE EU to say nothing of the Ukrainian junta the US imposed on this country. So best thing to do was to meet tet-a-tet without Ashton and Dyshitsa. I guess Russia respects the US SS much more than their president. So if Putin sent Lavrov to Geneva he definitely had an idea or several ones.

Now that we all know that US sanctions are peanuts for Russia it must be something else. I guess the main idea was to load Ukraine on the Euro-American shoulders. During the honeymoon with EU Yanukovich said they needed minimum 150 Bln. Euro to sign the SAA. Seems that he was not bluffing. Another reason may be the revenge to OSCE whom the sides in Geneva made responsible for all the processes in Ukraine. Now that they have excluded Russia we’ll have zero responsibility for the inevitable fiasco here. All because the Ukrainian elites never fulfill their obligations. The tragi-comedy will show how wrong I am. Before today I always failed to predict the developments here.

Thin air was produced, that's all.

A quite visionary series in the 70s captures it perfectly:
