An agreement on a project to renovate the Golubac Fortress as part of the Danube Strategy in Serbia was signed at the government HQ in Belgrade on Tuesday.

I have spent many a lovely relaxing summer here in Golubac. I'm so pleased the Fortress is being renovated. Golubac is the nearest thing Serbia has to a coastline and the area itself gives the impression of a seaside town all be it on the banks of the Danube. I hope further investment will follow. But my only selfish hope is that not too many people discover this place too soon. I want it all to myself ;-)
