Actually his job is easy... Whatever he says is for Russia's internal consumption with the majority of the populace there used to believe for more than a century whatever the leader of the time (Tsar, Party's General Secretary, Oligarch, etc.) says. What a post!, I guess it would actually mean something if you were in Ukraine standing along side your Russian buddies but I guess it is just an example of an internet coward using his anonymity to try and feel good by calling others cowards.

I have to say I agree with him. Ukraine is not a country that is geopolitically homogenous. This was to be expected once the Maidan government took over, that the Easterners would rebel against them, just like the Westerners rebelled against Yanukovich and his Eastern gang.

I don't see any way out of this except Western powers supporting the Western regions and the pro-Western Ukrainian government, while the Russians will support the pro-Russian Easterners. How they will ever come to a consensus, I have no idea, and see nothing other than a split as the way forward for this country, since Russia and the West have dipped their paws in far too deep and no one will back out now.

What makes Russia better in this case is that they are bringing about changes without all the murderous bloodshed that was seen in Kiev, so they have more moral high ground to be able to expose the West's hypocrisy indeed, but ultimately, it would have been better without the West and Russia getting involved in the Ukraine's problems (unless gas supplies would have been threatened) and left them to sort out their differences. Unfortunately, it turned out very different.

The problem is that from the very beginning the scenario was being written at Langley. Later Putin became a co-author and added some scenes. You know that the Russian interest the EU interest and the American interest are 3 different interests. But because Europe is not free we can speculate around the two remaining interests only. The thing is that only one side would like to calm the situation down while the other side behaves the way they did it in Viet Nam. When it became evident that Viet Kong was going to have the upper hand the Yankees started to use napalm and other things that still have sequences. In this case Russia and EU will be busy with the conflict for decades. It will ease the pressure on the US in many spheres. There is no such admission from the Estonian government in that news story. To the contrary, the Estonian government said that the Estonian FM was giving an overview of what he had heard and actually rejected the claim that he was giving an assessment. The problem is that from the very beginning the scenario was being written at Langley. Later Putin became a co-author and added some scenes. You know that the Russian interest the EU interest and the American interest are 3 different interests. But because Europe is not free we can speculate around the two remaining interests only. The thing is that only one side would like to calm the situation down while the other side behaves the way they did it in Viet Nam. When it became evident that Viet Kong was going to have the upper hand the Yankees started to use napalm and other things that still have sequences. To my mind long lasting disaster and tense is the main goal they have in the Ukraine.

In this case Russia and EU will be busy with the conflict for decades. It will ease the pressure on the US in many spheres. Besides because of the military misbalance EU will depend on them in greater degree. So it’s a dirty job with dirty plans. In fact I can see 5 Ukraines : Russian Crimea , Russian speaking East , Surjik speaking Central , Zakarpatskaya Rossins and the Nazi Galitsis. One is lost the other is on it’s way from Kiev and the two others seems are to be damned to live together. Very special is the fate of the minorities in the west including the Roussins. I personally can see no good scenarios but this year the Nazi will be hunted all over Ukraine like beasts.

Well, Nikolle, if it has appeared in every major internet media publication, including CNN, then I would have a hard time believing that it did not happen, unless it was just a media sensation, in which case we can speculate whether or not anything the media shows is to be believed or not. You said that in the CNN news story the Estonian government admitted that Western-trained snipers were firing on both Yanukovich's police officers and on protesters. There is no such admission from the Estonian government in that news story. To the contrary, the Estonian government said that the Estonian FM was giving an overview of what he had heard and actually rejected the claim that he was giving an assessment. You made up the "admission" part and therefore you lied.

About Russia's interests, yes, they have economic clout due to contracts with factories and manufacturers in the Eastern Ukraine, yes, they have major gas pipelines running through there (their bread and butter), but they haven't used violence and force that resulted in civilian deaths like the West has. Sure, they trucked provokers/instigators into Eastern Ukrainian cities to rally support for Russia, but thus far, without bloodshed, and that is the key difference I was referring to.

I have to say I agree with him. Ukraine is not a country that is geopolitically homogenous. This was to be expected once the Maidan government took over, that the Easterners would rebel against them, just like the Westerners rebelled against Yanukovich and his Eastern gang.

I don't see any way out of this except Western powers supporting the Western regions and the pro-Western Ukrainian government, while the Russians will support the pro-Russian Easterners. How they will ever come to a consensus, I have no idea, and see nothing other than a split as the way forward for this country, since Russia and the West have dipped their paws in far too deep and no one will back out now.

What makes Russia better in this case is that they are bringing about changes without all the murderous bloodshed that was seen in Kiev, so they have more moral high ground to be able to expose the West's hypocrisy indeed, but ultimately, it would have been better without the West and Russia getting involved in the Ukraine's problems (unless gas supplies would have been threatened) and left them to sort out their differences. Unfortunately, it turned out very different.
