The EU doesn't have the authority to freeze the South Stream...only the Bulgarian government can do that. Bulgaria will not throw away billions of euros because of a foreigners evil delusions.

The EU is a supra-national entity and has no real legal basis...National Law always triumphs over so called "international law"

How do you, as a known fan of big conspiracy theories, like this idea: All these things that happened in Ukraine were planned by Russian KGB long ago, with the final goal to annex Crimea?

hehe, Crimea river Gjon. Your offer of sharing gas with us for $1000 pcm is accepted. I assume that is an unlimited supply. You drive a hard bargain my friend. ;)

Nice to see someone admitting the real intentions of this annexation. But you forgot the few billions Russia 'saved' by usurping/stealing Ukrainian gas fields in the black sea.

It's great to read that, especially since some naive people here think Russia intervened to protect the Russian minority against imagined threats and violence.

You are a funny person commie. Russia negotiated with the EU, the Ukrainian opposition and Yanukovich. They all agreed to form a unity government, work together on a new constitution and have early elections. Everyone agreed and signed, except, the EU and the opposition reneged, started a coup and attempted to kill the president.

You see, Russia had no intentions except to help resolve the issues at that time. However, the EU and US handed Russia an opportunity to take Crimea, so Russia took it. The End.

This February in Crimea near Perekop 30 men returning from Kiev were seized on their way home and shot down. Most of the dead bodies were burnt and buried. Dozens of witnesses mostly women can prove it. So Russia with one stone killed several birds. Those are our people living on our lands. So it was quite natural. For your better understanding it’s like someone finds and returns his car that had been stolen by the dirty Albanians. They changed the WIN number the plates and the papers but you spit at their ugly faces several times you give them a kick and drive your car away laughing at the helpless cowards who’s children will also be genetic cowards with thief hearts inside. But you drive your car and forget about them. Just because they are like chickens that drive no feelings. No anger no respect no hatred … nothing at all coz nobody cares what chickens feel or think. Thus Russia took small part of what belongs to us in this part of the world. Definitely we are to be back for the rest of the stolen cars. And we do not care what G7 or OSCE or you or Enver Hoja would say. We do our job and you kiss verything lower than 1 meter.

Both Crimea and the Ukrainian gas fields are populated by ethnic Russians and Russian speakers. It is their wish to not be a part of a government in Kiev which overthrew a democratically elected government.

Don't worry. You won't freeze when Southstream dies. TAP pipeline will be operational, with a underground gas storage in Albania. We will share gas with you for let me say 1000 USD pcm. Good price and only for you! :-)

What you fail to understand is the actual parts of Southstream. The pipeline has several major EU corporations as owners with Gazprom so if its dead then billions will be lost to these corpations and that ’s not counting profits from any future gas sales.
So I’d say these EU corporations would hang every politiican in Brussels if that was the case. Its all hot air; what the west does best these days – bluff. They know that they need Russia more than Russia needs the EU.

"By restoring it’s sovereignty over Crimea Russia saved 11 Bln euro for construction of the stream plus 800 Mln euro annually for the fleet rent plus the cost of transportation also became lower. Altogether in 10 years it makes 25 Bln euro. "

Altogether in 10 years it makes 25 Bln euro. Quite enough to buy all the elites on our way to Italy. Besides we already know that Gazprom is much stronger than EU and it always hits the target. To say nothing of the inevitable full stop of the transit via Ukraine this year. Then in autumn we’ll see how EU will be putting us terms with empty reservoirs. Bluffing is the western way of making business. But with Russia the trick does not work any longer. They can twist smaller and weaker hands but not ours.

Dead? Why, because the EU says so? Gazprom did not sign a deal with the EU, so nobody cares what they say. Gazprom signed deals with individual countries and not the EU as a whole so it doesn't matter what unelected bureaucrats in Brussels say.

Besides, private Western corporations are also taking part in the development of the South Stream. The EUcrats are just sour they are left out and couldn't get Nabucco to see the light of day.
