"We will not recognize the annexation of Crimea or the referendum that took place there as legitimate," Ashton said.

"The UN General Assembly has also agreed on a resolution calling the Moscow-backed referendum that led to this annexation illegal," she underscored.

That's nice, but somehow surprising to hear it from Ashton who sees Kosovo's status different, though, from legal status, it's very similar.

What's surprising, dear?! As far as legalities are concerned, Kosovo's UDI is legal (according to the ICJ) and Crimea referendum was illegal (according to the UNGA). Not sure legal and illegal can be called "very similar" in the English language :)

The Brussels talks are example to no one. Few countries are as weak and pathetic as Serbia! It's saying yes to every single Albanian demand for Kosovo Serb integration because opposing anything means isolation poverty or death. You won't have such a pathetic member of any other talks! Bosnian Serbs are in a much better and stronger position than Serbia.

Example to region? I don't think so. There's only one partially-recognized country named Kosovo, the other countries are sovereign states and don't need those 'talks' and 'agreements'. Though some EU mediation in bilateral oder multilateral conferences between Balkan countries wouldn't be bad.

Comm,

The only reason the "talks" are taking place is because Serbia is desperate to join the EU and will do everything necessary , including recognizing Kosova. It is just a matter of time before Serbia officially declares its recognition of Kosova. You know this deep down in your heart, as do most Serbs.

Would be good to read a sentence like: "We will not recognize the UDI of Kosovo or the phantom-referendum that only took place according to Obama as legitimate"
