LOL, maybe you should read some of the things Draskovic was saying during the 90s. He completely did a 360 when it was politically appropriate to do so.
(Ari Gold, 31 March 2014 19:19)

Doing a 360 means not changing anything :)

Why are you so especially sensitive to any mention of Ceda Jovanovic?
(Dorothy, 1 April 2014 16:50)

I don't recall mentioning him ever before even once. I do note that Ari, along with the usual suspects here, mention him almost every chance they get. It's a strange obsession.

@Danilo
"Some of you people are really obsessed with Jovanovic and LDP for some reason. They never had more than 7% of the vote and were never a serious player in Serbian politics. "

Besides Ceda Jovanovic Ari also mentioned several other politicians that Draskovic had attached himself to over the years.

Not really. I merely mentioned the FACT that Draskovic has been on every political bandwagon that would take him. Ceda's included. But you're right. I don't have no obsession with him because he failed. However, much of his politics still exist today. No less, they resonate with former nationalists. And that's why Serbia's opportunist EUphoric political system will continue to bring misery to Serbia for years to come unless there are changes.

then when people got sick of him he went from Kostunica, to Tadic to Ceda Jovanovic and the LDP and today to Vucic

I think his existence just bothers some people because it disturbs some sort of concept that some Americans and Australians with Serbian roots have that all Serbs do or should think the same (as though being Serbian is some sort of cult or something)

Draskovic is a liar. If Milosevic wanted him killed he would be dead – this guy’s days in the sun are over and he is trying to rekindle that moment.
He came out to Australia on the national bandwagon – in fact he was the first, not Vosilav Seselj. He tried to cream money from Serbs with his political party and upon returning to Serbia we heard his rhetoric change from nationalist to “a field is much nicer with different flowers”. He was converted to western ideals.
The best story I heard was when the US Ambassador visited him in those early days and thought his wife was the cleaner.

Say what like about Vuk, but as someone who survived two attempts on his life, the guy has the right to air his opinion on who ordered those hits, as well as the (sadly successful) hits against others. Whether he is right or wrong - well, that's for the Serbian justice system to try to determine. Given all of the shady characters in Serbian politics (just look at who Vucic, Dacic and Nikolic were in their past political lives), I'm not terribly confident that we'd ever learn the truth. Who's to say that the likes of Radomir Markovic and Legija wouldn't be made the scapegoats?

LOL, maybe you should read some of the things Draskovic was saying during the 90s. He completely did a 360 when it was politically appropriate to do so. Actually, his rhetoric was much more inflammatory than Slobo's ever was. Milosevic isn't someone that I identify with, but he only became a nationalist when it was popular to do so. Before that, he would always talk about Yugoslavia and socialism and all that mind numbing stuff.

I don't respect someone who just still show his face after he has alternated his ideology so many times.

Ari Gold

Vuk is just someone who stood up against the tyrant and who cares about his country.
(T, 31 March 2014 15:01)

lol the only thing Vuk cares about is staying in politics for as long as humanely possible. He alternates his political ideology and latches on to which ever more popular leader is doing good in the polls. It was first independently, then when people got sick of him he went from Kostunica, to Tadic to Ceda Jovanovic and the LDP and today to Vucic. At one point or another, his rhetoric would have staunchly disagreed with all of those people. And it doesn't stop him from trying to hold on for dear life to some kind of power.

And the fact that he still comes out to even have an opinion after being in political life for so long, when the country is in such dire conditions (as is the rest of the Balkans) is shameful. Go home, wolf! (Vuk)

I don't believe Milosevic tried to kill Draskovic. When the president of a country pushes a button on someone, that person does not get away without leaving the country. If someone powerful wanted Draskovic dead, Draskovic would have had a heart attack in prison (like Milosevic had in the Hague).

Politicians like draskovic and Ivan stambolic would have kept most of Yugoslavia together if not all of it to this day. Sadly majority of Serbians like yourself have always supported criminals like Milosevic and Raznatovic. While you criticize draskovic you don't understand that he could have saved Serbia from getting air bombs in 1999 for 78 nights. You want to complain about NATO intervention in Kosova, yet guys like Draskovic and Stambolic could have prevented all that from happening. Most Serbs sound bipolar nowadays. They want something yet they don't know what they want, to top it all they elect nationalists who have repeatedly made Serbia vulnerable time and time again.

This is all Draskovic can do, talk about dead people who cannot defend themselves. I'm not saying Milosevic was responsible for absolutely everything he is accused of, but what has Draskovic actually done since 2000? This guy was a respected author turned politician. During his course in politics, he's been a socialist, monarchist, nationalist then after 2000 a "democrat", then a "liberal democrat" and today a "progressive". He switches ideologies like it's no big deal. Why do bigger parties keep giving him a podium?
