I find it amusing that the trial judge said that HDZ should be abolished as they have impoverished Croatia. Let’s face it they dumped everything on Ivo Senader, but he is not all to blame. Look at Franjo Tudjman- his children are multi millionaires. Where did they get this money from? Working overtime on the assembly line?
On the part about impoverishing Croatia, that job has only just begun as more and deeper cuts to spending have to be made and billions needed to fix the refugee problem. In the end Croatia will have to give territory to Serbia as compensation. My best advise to Zagreb is try and do something now because when the Russians take over Europe, and they will, another group of Serb politicians will surface and they will ripe Croatia to pieces and there will be no big daddy US or NATO to help.

A corrupt politician is not a rare beast, but the levels to which some of these ex-YU politicians have stooped is beyond even greed. This guy and many others like him have led the Croatian population to near abject poverty and were it not for their tourist industry civil war would have broken out there long ago. Maybe now that they are in the EU and to some extent their xenophobic excesses can be kept in check they might become nicer people as a nation and maybe then those people they expelled from Krajina can return to their homes to live in peace and dare I imagine it equality........
