If The Situation causes the Ukraine to default on its debt, the Ukraine's creditors (including Germany) will suffer and once again have to mark down their assets.

Willi Germany gets 40 percent of its energy from Russia and 33 percent of its gas. we are not talking about a few cubic meters, Germany is a huge country and its economy needs power to run.

Germany is closing its nuclear reactors for saftey reasons and will be replacing that electricty with more natural gas generators while it develops greener technologies over the next 50 or so years. Every time Germany's economy grows, it's energy consumption grows with it. That is the global standard. Everyone is addicted to Oil.

IF europe starts seizing Russian assets, Russia will follow suit and Germany can lose 20 billion euro in German investments in Russia. This would cause the a markdown. If The Situation causes the Ukraine to default on its debt, the Ukraine's creditors (including Germany) will suffer and once again have to mark down their assets.

A mark down hurts the currency, lowering its value, and causes imports to cost more thereby causing inflation pressures on consumers.

Europe already refuses to buy from Iran, if it refuses Oil for Russia it needs to come up with some fabulous invention tomorrow or go with out.

I'm sorry but that means that Merkel can't punish Putin even though he really bothers you

After what happened in the Ukrain, the South-Stream project has no future. Europe is already looking for ways to cut back on russian gas and oil imports, and this will will have the highest priority for any EU country, especially Germany, in the next few years. The US as the biggest natural gas producer is ready to fill almost any demand for gas coming from Europe. Almost any newpaper in the west is writing about it already, and it is only a matter of time until Putin can keep his for whatever he wants to.

As usual Serbia is blind to what is going on and put his cards on the wrong horse once more. Well, now that the first serb chetniks are already fighting with their russian brothers, and the Belgrade government trying to ignore what is going on in teh Ukrain, or even supporting their beloved dictator Putin, it is only a matter of time till a very cold and brisk storm from the west will be blowing right into their face.

Maybe next month Gazprom will need no Black Sea part of the Stream if Romania says OK. Or the underwater part will be much shorter if Romania refuses and President Troyan plays the role of the Troyan Horse. Russia will save a lot of money to invest to the 12 annexed Russian regions.
