Thats all nice but here's the deal:

1.)We dont know what his religious beliefs were, for throughout his life, tesla went from one to the other. He embraced elements of orthodox christianity, catholicism, buddhism, you name it.All we could safely say is that he was a deist in the widest sense, like Tom Paine.

2.)This is the man whose father wanted him to become a priest, but was so resistant to the idea that when Tesla was struck with a deadly illness,he made his father promise that if he survived,he would allow him to go to engeneering school.Needless to say,you can guess the rest of the story.

3.)This whole act by the church is clearly a political attempt to save the face of an organization imbuned with corruption and hippocracy. This is the same leadership that slantes none-heterosexual relationships as being perverted, yet have no problem covering up the many times their own priests seuxally abuse toddlers.Clearly it is not for them to judge morally on this issue.

4.)This is also the same guy who never married, and was reported to be asexual, even though women apparently were quite fond of him.All these aspects point to a man who may have been orginially orthodox by family but later went his own way and never frnakly looked back.and last but not least,WE DONT KNOW WHAT HE WOULD HAVE SAID! I mean the guy has been dead for about three quarters of a century.

This is not to slate Tesla,no individual is fully moral, not even him,but what the church is trying to do is wrong.

I resent the charge of Church Propaganda, Tesla was the son of a priest and christianed Orthodox, he is entitled to a proper Orthodox memorial. This was not possible when his ashes were returned to communist Yugoslavia.

I also resent the charges that Church and Science are in some sort of conflict. That it is not the Orthodox dianamic. It only becomes a issue when people refuse to learn about science and learn about Orthodoxy.

The Orthodox neither attack or acclaaim they latest scientific claims and theories. Furthermore real science has no politics, and is not insulted when someone has a religous memorial. To perpetuate this conflict, which is foreign to Science and Orthodoxy alike, does not help anyone. This conflict has no place in the future, and has no respect for the past.

It is also not helpful to an understanding of what the Church does and what science does.

Leave him where he is.

He should not be used as part of church propaganda.

He was a scientist - a man in persuit of the real truths of the universe.
