Yanuckovych has been crying like a chicken and a wolf just to get Putin's attention (which no doubt he already has). Putin thinks those type of Ukrainians need to be sorted out amomgst others and the territory should be part of Russia as they need some relief of the freedom of the landscape there.I think Putin is deeply interested in Russian reform and the fact that a division that desires EU "freedom" is potentially interesting for creating a new Russia.I believe that.

While the rest of the world where Russia enjoys much more influence and support feels relief that someone dares to spit westwards sometimes.

I assume by "rest of the world" you mean it's the Moon or Mars where Russia has much more influence, because not a single country on Earth has supported Russia in its adventures in Ukraine.

However on 22 February 2014, 328 out of 449 Ukrainian MPs democratically voted in favour to impeach Viktor Yanukovych from the post of President of Ukraine hold early presidential elections on 25 May 2014.

So what the hell is Putin on about when he says that "an unconstitutional coup and armed seizure of power was carried out in neighbouring Ukraine"?

He was impeached by elected MPs after Yanukovych's decisions directly resulted in the murder of at least 70+ protesters in a four day period.

Well, dear, you have to see it through Vladimir's eyes and it will make perfect sense. In Russia, the law is what Vladimir says, not what peoples' representatives say. So, obviously, for Vladimir, an action from people's representatives is a coup. The concept of democratically elected MPs making decisions is alien to him!

Lies and propaganda. Just like Hitler before destroying Czechoslovakia in 1939. These politicians are very dangerous. The are capable of starting a world war just because their country is not big enough... It wouldn't be enough even if they conquer all the world.
Now tell me what's the safest place on Earth? Antarctica? I doubt that. Mr. Putin will find a Russian penguin there so he will claim that land too.
Of course the Russians in Crimea should have all the rights in the world like all the people in a civilized country. But changing frontiers is a bad idea.
In this case, Mr. Putin should let the chechens have their own independent country and so on.
Just give the people freedom and prosperity. They won't care about borders anymore. You, politicians, should live the pain of wars. Let the people live in peace. Ukrainians don't hate the Russians and I think they never will no matter if you try to turn them against eachother.

Putin recalled that the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya were examples of illegal actions, considering UN Security Council resolutions.

Well he also mentioned Kosovo precedent. But this time Putin was indirect in his statements. I believe it was a mistake to arrange a press conference. If I were him I would just make a statement to escape questions concerning our troops on the peninsula and others. I believe he was not persuasive as usual. But this man hates to be pressed and this step back means only that he already changed the tactics. His strategy for returning our lands back is merely changed. The military maneuvers plus the Ukrainian activities plus Topol-m missile launching must be a cold shower for the USA and their vassals all over Europe. While the rest of the world where Russia enjoys much more influence and support feels relief that someone dares to spit westwards sometimes. Also we showed the world that in the Ukraine we have a putsch illegal bandit government. Also Russian people in the Ukraine were encouraged and everybody saw that they exist and they think different from the Nazi in Kiev. Hopefully nobody is going to shoot each other there. So let’s wait for the referendums in the south-east regions to see what Putin’s last step back means.

"Putin recalled that the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya were examples of illegal actions, considering UN Security Council resolutions. "

"Russia might deploy its armed forces in Ukraine on a legitimate basis and in an extreme case only, but it is unnecessary yet"

Oh, is there an UNSC resolution which allows deplyment of Russian troops in a neighbor country? I didn't hear about that. His 'legitimate basis' is as legitimate as the US congress allowing Bush sending troops of Iraq.

Sorry, Mr. Putin, you can decide between upholding international law or ignoring it, like the US has done and like you are doing now.

P.S: The world is not full of idiots, so they can Russian troops in Russian army vehicles, though their insignia were removed. Maybe it would have been smart to remove the Russian number signs on the vehicles, too? :)

Putin ended up shooting himself in the foot. His actions caused the Russian stock market to crash with Vlad losing 10 billion dollars of his own money. The capitalist financial markets punished Russia severely, that is what made Putin cry uncle.

"Putin, in his first press conference since the ousted Ukrainian president left Kiev, said that Viktor Yanukovych had met all the conditions laid out in the agreement signed with the opposition on February 21 - and thus lost all power.

Yanukovych, according to him, is still the legitimate president of Ukraine, but now has no power"

--------------

Lots of international news is reporting that Putin still considers Viktor Yanukovych to be the 'legitimate President of Ukraine' because the only way you can legitimately get rid of a President is through "death, personal resignation or impeachment" (Putin's words, not mine).
