Agreement with Ferrero, related to hazelnut production in Serbia is of paramount importance for Serbian agriculture, because Serbia has a lot of suitable terrain for the very intensive production of nuts, including hazelnuts.

"I would not be suprised if in the next decade or so, Italy and Russia immerge as the leading investors in Balkan growth, and there is great potential for growth throughout the Balkans."

And unlike the Russians who invest only to sell more gas to 'preferred conditions' or the Chinese who invest to build infrastructure (with mostly imported Chinese workers) payed by Chinese loans, the Italian companies invest in creating jobs and areas that will help Serbia to decrease her trade deficit. Already now, Fiat Serbia is making a good percentage of Serbian exports. You could see that in the steeply increased exports last year, after the car factory ramped up the production. Unfortunately, the Russian friends excluded cars from the often praised Serbian-Russian free trade agreement.

Germany, France and the US should take notice, once again the Italians see a great potential for business in the Balkans. Once again the Italians are willing to invest the money and take the risks. I would not be suprised if in the next decade or so, Italy and Russia immerge as the leading investors in Balkan growth, and there is great potential for growth throughout the Balkans.

This may sound funny, but it's serious business. Absolutely fantastic to be associated with a world class company like Ferrero. Yet again, the Italians put a smile on my face.
