Bam Bam: Firstly, I do not need to be reminded what the Serbs did in Bosnia and your implication that I am supportive of them and of Dodik is very wide of the mark. However, Lagumdzija is the Minister of Foreign Affairs for ALL Bosnians, not just for the Bosniaks and before he opens his mouth he needs to take account of the views and feelings of everyone, not just those likely to vote for the SDP in October's election. If he wants free rein to say whatever he likes, and he is certainly entitled to do so as an SDP politician, he should resign the post of MFA first. This will never happen and all office holders in BiH will continue to abuse their positions for party political and national reasons.

Finally, there is a difference between being found not guilty and being "an innocent man". The Scots have a verdict of 'not proven' which might be better suited to Oric. I don't believe that he should be retried for the same crimes by a Belgrade court not least as it would be a complete waste of Serbian taxpayers money with a guilty verdict a foregone conclusion.

Lagumdzija has misused his office to make supportive statements about Oric..........How can it me misused when the ICTY have no interest in Oric anymore. Are you people so uneducated that you don't understand that he is a free man. If the federation and Croatia did what Serbia is currently doing evry second Serbian citizen of the established criminal enterprise of RS would be issued an international arrest warrant. Let me remind you Serbs again that the history books show so do all the main western media organisations that the Serbs are and will always be the aggressors in the Balkans. You don't have to be an expert to know this. Dodo is using these excuses to disguise the problems which are currently haunting RS with at least 60% unemployed. 40% officially and another 20% off the books. No room for lies !

And of course you must come on a Serbian site to remind us everyday of Republika Srpska's impending doom....we are still waiting though.

Good point, Questioner, and I had a similar reaction when Vucic weighed in on this issue last week. Vucic once worshipped Seselj, whose paramilitaries stand accused of committing war crimes in eastern Bosnia starting in spring 1992 (not to mention the war crimes they allegedly committed in Croatia, Vojvodina and maybe even Kosovo). If guys like Vucic and Dodik were actually good politicians, they'd keep their mouths shut about this.

I agree with Dodik that Lagumdzija has misused his office to make supportive statements about Oric. The Croat and Serb members of the Presidency and their Foreign Minister (when one has held this post) have also traditionally made statements supportive of 'their' people and I cannot imagine that this will change under the tripartite system of the government. I am surprised that he has been so understanding of Izetbegovic although he is trying insidiously to make the point that he and other Serbs do not acknowledge Bakir as 'their' President. After all, that job belongs to Dodik himself. I do not however agree with Dodik about the attempts of Serbia to retry Oric for his alleged crimes. It is this element of the case that needs an explanation; the dissatisfaction of Serbs in Serbia and the RS with the verdict in the Hague is not sufficient to warrant a retrial. In fact, everyone connected to this case knows that there would be no point having a trial as no judge in Serbia who wants to continue as a judge (or even continue breathing) is going to acquit Oric. He may well travel abroad and have to undergo the same farce that befell Ganic and Divjak but the chances of his facing trial in Belgrade are considerably slimmer than g.Dodik.

Finally, I am again surprised that we hear nothing from the Prime Minister in the RS. When Dodik had THAT role we never heard from the President!! Don't you just love election year.

"His comments came after the Bosniak (Muslim) political leaders showed their support for the wartime commander of Srebrenica, Naser Orić, and his associates."

Wasn't Dodik the guy who showed open support for Biljana Plavsic, a convicted war criminal, by sending a state plane to Sweden to bring this 'heroine' back home? He should better keep his mouth closed, he isn't any better than Izetbegovic when it comes to support former war criminals. Shame on both!
