"We have had individual initiatives from people who wanted to establish such a bank, but we believe that the bank needs to have several founders and a large number of shareholders, and that it should also be run by people from the diaspora", Vlajković said

If it is run fromoutside the sphere of politics, and is insured, and is run according to European laws and accounting standards, it would be just as reliable as any other bank. I would be interested and I look forward to hearing how this progreses.

The establishment of the bank Diaspora, would be a significant incentive for easier and faster investment srposke Diaspora into the mainstream, especially due to the fact that the Serbs in the diaspora have a strong interest and desire to invest in Serbia.

This is the perfect way to capitalize on Serb patriotism by createing a bank just for hem this way the Serb govrnment has additional source of revenue .Loans can be taken out and never repaid with the proceeds safely deposited in Swiss Bank Accounts.

Since all the other former Yugoslav citizens got soaked its about time the Serbia Diaspora be taken to the cleaners.

Serb Diaspora.... now is the opportunity.... to put your money where your mouth is.

We Albanians welcome this and Serb diaspora such as Peggy will continue to contribute her 2 cents which will add up eventuality :)

My first thought was "why reinvent the wheel". Transferring money is no problem and the rates are good at Banca Intesa. You've already got Opportunity Bank that does microcredits.

Then, when I think about it, I think this could be successful. Having a specific diaspora bank could be a brand that could attract people to their business.

Serbia really needs to foster a greater sense and culture of entrepreneurship. A lot of problems in Serbia are actually advantages with the right perspective. Maybe an endeavor like this could do it.

This initiative for a diaspora bank can only be succesful if also the Rule of Law is strengthened= intedependent judges and independent public prosecutioners. Investors want fair protection against Serbian politics, notably the Serbs having experiences of an earlier date....
