The problem is that priority is written down into the text. And if you look around you will find that it’s the basic devil logic of the west. I don’t mind equal rights but they demand priority rights. Much bigger problem is the priority to religious minorities. Under this cover they will organize new sects to destroy the Ukraine from inside. Also the west supports the Nazi opposition to hang multiple photos of Waffen SS leaders on the Maidan. Instead they promise nothing.

Their hypocrisy knows no borders. I do believe that among the rivals of the Serbs there are reasonable people. But today they are hostages of the situation and have to approve things that they dislike. So they motto the false slogans of the mass media available. The tragedy is that all peoples of Balkans are already divided and taken hostage. And you Albanians will feel it on your skins as Serbs are bent down.

That works and that can work in Serbia. Yes Serbia is in a horrible state right now because it has to compltetly rebuild. But the good part of that is it can now chose how it is going to rebuild and what kind of a country it will be. If Serbia can have good relations with everyone based on trade, and if Serbia could negotiate the kind of Agreement that Switzerland has with the EU, than everyone will be better off.

You are making a lot of assumptions "just a thought". I'm equally at home speaking English or Serbian and knew both languages fluently by the age of 6years.I visit Serbia regularly so am well aware of public opinion there. In Banja Luka these anti-EU sentiments are equally echoed. The only Serbs likely to benefit from the EU are those that were forcibly driven out of Croatia by NATO and their stooges in Zagreb, but I'm not holding my breath there either. You asked why I'm so adamant.....I didn't say I was adamant about anything I gave a perfectly valid resumee of how many Serbs, that I know, feel that they are being railroaded into this organisation which in great part was responsible for the mayhem of the 90s. There is an alternative and many Serbs would like to explore that option first but I suspect won't be allowed to.My personal view is that the EU needs Serbia more than Serbia needs them."Ako nisi razumeo onda moze i na Srpski" just a sample.

No Serbia is not Switzerland, Serbia has been mired by and destroyed in wars while the Swiss lived in peace. Switzerland is an example for Serbia. They don't appreciate their neutrality as much as they used to, but that should not stop Serbia from developing its self as a neutral country. In the Greatest period of US history, the US firmly believed and Thomas Jefferson said "Trade with all, Alliance with none".

That works and that can work in Serbia. Yes Serbia is in a horrible state right now because it has to compltetly rebuild. The really strange thing here is the people who use this English site apparently do so because they are more comfortable with English than Serbian. This would most likely be due to either having been gone from Serbia so long that it is no longer your native tongue or never have lived there and used Serbian as your primary language which leads one to wonder one how you use the word "us" and how you can be so adamant that you know more how Serbs in Serbia feel than Serbs in Serbia?

Dr No: There is a clear difference between asking whether a person would like to see their country join the EU at all (the headline story) and the level of optimism about joining by a specific date (2020 as posed by B92). I think that those who don't believe Serbia will join by 2020 are simply being realistic given how long negotiations have taken with other countries which did not have the complicating factor of Kosovo to deal with. Six years of negotiations and two further years for the ratification process by member states and a referendum in Serbia is more realistic, giving 2022 as a joining date.

Dr. No

pre 10 godina

Bizarre B92 you appear to have your own poll regarding this matter on the website and it is currently saying that 59.6% of voters don't think Serbia will be part of EU in 2020. Which I'm presuming is inadvertently asking the same question. Though the sample size may be smaller there is quite a statistical difference to the headline poll. I see little appetite amongst the Serbians I know for this EU nirvana they mostly would like to go it alone like Swtzerland/ Norway/Sweden they are all doing fine because they are left alone and don't get persitently harassed. Serbia's biggest problem is it's corrupt politicians and it's corrupt political system.change that and you change everything. The answer is much closer to home in fact it's inside the house.

I hope unlike the Ukrainians Serbs will at least translate and read the documents they are going to sign. In case of the Ukraine 810 pages composed the obligations of the candidate while EU virtual obligations seized only 90 pages. Among the items EU tried to impose on them were things like refusal from an independent foreign policy , like priority of the rights of sexual and religion minorities ect. Also even the English text has never been published in the Ukraine. Only 10% of it was translated into the Ukrainian that by the way is unknown to the eastern provinces citizens.

According to the text local products should meet the DIN demands that very often are much lower than the existing Ukrainian ones. But despite that the Ukrainians will have to stop their plants and buy EU goods. Ukraine will have to change it’s wide railroads and do other things at a price of 150 Bln euro while EU offers only 1 Bln. Even things like carrot should meet the DIN standards. In exchange EU offers only hypothetical advantages in a faraway future. Turks will tell you how long it can be. Such things are not discussed in Goebbels-Murdoch mass media that dominate in the west today.

Peggy

pre 10 godina

I am guessing, questions were phrased in a way which would lead to desired answer and areas favourable to EU membership asked and they still only got 51%.
There is 7% of undercided as well which could put the spanner in the works.
The only true way to know is to go to a referendum (only after a healthy diet of propaganda).

A Bulgarian news website, Bivol, reported on 31 October last year that a public relations firm led by Stanishev’s wife, Monika Stanisheva, had won a €60,000 European Parliament tender for a project promoting the European elections in Bulgaria...

Where did you find those in favour? I don't know any patriotic Serb in their right mind who would condemn us to that purgatory!! Selling the family silver to the EU is no way to run a country. Is there a sane Serbian saviour out their for our people because this lot who occupy the parliament building are a bunch of freeloaders and opportunists. The sound of folded Euros emanating from their pockets is deafening.

I wonder how many are being bribed to vote in favor of EU membership? Just as Northern Mitrovica was being coerced into voting in polls there. Meet the new boss same as the old boss.

I am guessing, questions were phrased in a way which would lead to desired answer and areas favourable to EU membership asked and they still only got 51%.
There is 7% of undercided as well which could put the spanner in the works.
The only true way to know is to go to a referendum (only after a healthy diet of propaganda).

“Correction... not "priority of the rights of sexual and religion minorities" but "equal rights of sexual and religion minorities”

The problem is that priority is written down into the text. And if you look around you will find that it’s the basic devil logic of the west.... etc.. etc...

Before we waste time with the rest of your arguments, let's confirm their foundation. Any official source document from the EU which requires Ukraine to give "priority of the rights of sexual and religion minorities" ?

Dr No: There is a clear difference between asking whether a person would like to see their country join the EU at all (the headline story) and the level of optimism about joining by a specific date (2020 as posed by B92). I think that those who don't believe Serbia will join by 2020 are simply being realistic given how long negotiations have taken with other countries which did not have the complicating factor of Kosovo to deal with. Six years of negotiations and two further years for the ratification process by member states and a referendum in Serbia is more realistic, giving 2022 as a joining date.

But the good part of that is it can now chose how it is going to rebuild and what kind of a country it will be. If Serbia can have good relations with everyone based on trade, and if Serbia could negotiate the kind of Agreement that Switzerland has with the EU, than everyone will be better off.
