Haha, I am cheering for Dacic on this one, just for the pleasure of seeing their maneuver backfire.

What is the opposition saying by the way?

Just a Thought,

That is the goal indeed. Vucic and SNS are at the height of their popularity (only eaven knows why) and they are looking to strike while the iron is hot. As officical PM, Vucic will seek to further consolidate political gains and achieve a complete monopoly on Serbian politics. He'll also try to take all the credit for any social and economic progress Serbia makes as it heads toward EU membership over the next 5-7 years. It'll be interesting to see how competently SNS manage the transition. Will they succeed in bringing enough prosperity, opportunity and civil rights to ordinary citizens to keep themselves in power? Will the EU template do much of their job for them? How will they maneuver through tricky matters such as the economic problems plaguing Southern Europe, the gradual letting go of Kosovo, the acceptance of gay rights in the Balkans, etc? How will they balance pressures from East (Russia and China) and West (EU and US)? Look at the fiasco that Viktor Yanukovich faces in Ukraine at the moment. Finally, how will they address their own political lineage should Serbia ever fully come to terms with its recent past? How will they justify once siding with Seselj, Milosevic, Karadzic, Mladic, Hadzic and Martic?

I really do not understand Serbian politics, SNS is totally in charge of the govt., what is the benefit to them to calling for new elections. A true democracy would have leaders elected for a specified term following the will of the people. Only to be removed from office for criminal behavior or in cases where illness have made it impossible to perform their duties. It seems like the goal here is to return to a single party system controlling the govt and the people I guess similar to North Korea and the new democratic Russia.
