"The funny part is that it is mostly Serbia and Serbs that discuss about Kosovo's UN membership :) It sounds like, for some reason, Serbia and Serbs really want Kosovo to apply for UN membership..."
(icj1, 24 January 2014 20:13)

Could be, because Serbs would see it as a victory if Kosovo will is rejected, which will be the case.
(Comm. Parrisson, 27 January 2014 14:05)

What victory, dear? Will that make Kosovo accept Serbia's offer of more-than-autonomy-but-less-then-independence?! Would Serbia offer Kosovo UN membership under that deal?! Makes no sense, whatsoever...

And even if it were to make sense, it would mean that Serbia is begging Kosovo to consider UN membership as important so that Serbia can look important. So Serbia's importance depends on Kosovo's decisions... no sure Serbs would be happy with that.

No country is Doing more for Kosovo indepenence than Serbia with its customs agents and border guards and rokcec logo ballots and ambassador dejan pavicevic.

It's clear that in the UNSC, there's no chance at all that a new state unilaterally created by a spearatist ethnic minority will get the necessary recommendation.
(Comm. Parrisson, 24 January 2014 15:32)
Ah, the confidence of Serbs in controlling the world by using others! There are 2 countries standing in the way of Kosovo joining the EU, neither of which is Serbia.
There is a lot(and I mean a lot) of talk of how China will veto any chance of Kosovo membership. The problem is ALL the talk is coming from Serbs and not the Chinese. China is opposed to an unilateral independent Kosovo preferring a mutual agreement, but to my knowledge has never threatened a veto. As history presents itself China is more likely to abstain from voting if it is preferred by the majority. Such as they did on UNSC 1244(which Russia voted for)
While Russia loudly claims support for Serbia on the matter and at this time would probably veto, things change with time. Russia also said no to EULEX as long as Serbia did not agree, and suddenly as UNMIK officers were leaving and EULEX was looking inevitable, Serbia removed its insistence on NO so Russia could appear united with the rest of UNSC and welcome EULEX--strange how that happened isn't it.
Also with the south stream coming into play, the temptation for Serbs to try to control the valves will cause Russia to discipline and since Serbia already will pay more than the others, stripping Kosovo away might just teach a lesson.

Probably during the process of EU accession talks and direct negotiations with Pristina, at some point may come out some question asking from Serbia some claims concerning the status of Kosovo. Serbian negotiating team should have well-planned and wise policy capable pass through all the traps and to achieve the best possible solution. In every case priority is improving the position of the Serbs in Kosovo and their complete safety, with the development of the economy in the north, that Serbs are and economically able to survive in Kosovo.

"We did not introduce any new topics, we did not talk about status issues, and above all there was no mention of Kosovo becoming an UN member. It is a topic that Priština will probably insist on initiating, but not with us and not in front of us. Because they know the answer," stressed Vulin.

And you know, Mr. Vulin, that the answer of Belgrade regarding this topic is irrelevant, because, asyou mentioned before, the UNSC recommends a new member, and only then the UNGA votes about membership.

If Pristina should try to bring this topic to the EU sponsored Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, it only shows how clueless they are. It's clear that in the UNSC, there's no chance at all that a new state unilaterally created by a spearatist ethnic minority will get the necessary recommendation.

Not in the case of Kosova! Commie, do u know what UNSC means? Let me give u the translation:
United Nations Security Council! The key word here is (Security) which also in translation means that the UNSC does not want another Balkan war, my old friend! Another translation you should understand clearly: Serbia in Kosova = A Balkan inferno! Trust me, Serbia can forget about mingling with Kosova and her people! Kosova and her people have chosen their path & destiny, and sorry to say that Serbia is not part of it! You do the math Einstein!!!
