In America a “billion” is 1,000,000,000, while in Britain it is 1,000,000,000,000, which the Americans call a ‘trillion.’ In Serbia ‘milijarda’ is not a British or American ‘million’ but, confusingly, an American ‘billion.’ I am not sure what Serbians call an American ‘Trillion’ but suspect it might be ‘bilijarda.’ Do Serbs have a name for a British ‘Trillion?’ Is it any wonder that people are confused?
