Economy minister say he'll "resign" if labor law fails

Neoliberalism is destroying societies. 12 hours workdays, firing at will...insecurity...
Health and social care, education...all this is quickly becoming thing of the past. Even Dutch king recently said that social state is the thing of the past and that everyone who will want health of social care, or education for their children will have to pay for it in the future.
States of Europe treat their citizens with brutality, and it's certainly capitalist state when it deals with oridinary people. Social state exists only for rich "investors" and "capital owners" who are pampered and given all kind of tax breaks and benefits just to attract them to particular country.
Serbia made its move. This could attract some investors, so I expect politicians in other countries to explain to their citizens that they will have to give more in other to attract capital their way. How about scrapping child labor laws? Hiring 10 year olds for half the salary would make one country attractive for investors. Until someone cuts even more....

I hope that the union leadership, which does not represent a constructive negotiator to Serbian government, in terms of harmonization of labor laws, will not be allowed to stop more than necessary reform of group of laws, and that Serbia keeps hostage to the fact that do not realize that times have changed since when the workers were protected by state-owned enterprises.

If you don't pay people enough to live off their wages and save a little, those people will not want to work for you for very long. If you don't pay people enough to live, than they won't want to work and ultimately you will kill spending and economic development while you force people to leach off of the state. Capitalism works best when everyone works, pays taxes, spends and saves. capitalism chokes when one group hordes, another group pays taxes and the last group leaches off of the government.
