No, Kosovo is Serbian. It was Serbs who established it and named it. 'Kosova' is just a derivative of Kosovo. The Albanians just changed the ending because of their pronunciation of a Serbian word. The history and all that was built up there historically is mainly Serbian. And Serbs owned most of the land.

-- Ida, the land you know as Kosova existed before the Serbs came into the Balkans. It existed before the Romans came into the Balkans and it existed before the Turks came into the Balkans. Now name means nothing. We call it Dardania, you call it Kosovo. Doesn't say anything about ownership. It does tell you that some other people who called themselves Dardanians established it before Serbia and thus call it Dardania. So your theory about Serbia establishing flies out of the window. Second- the Romans ruled it for more than 1000 years. The Turks for 500 years, the Serbs for about 100 years. So you have a place that was established centuries before the Serbs made it into the Balkans, ruled by others for thousands and hundreds of years continuously, and ruled by Serbs at some point for less then 100 years continuously, having more than 90% Albanian population; how is it Serb again?

Actually body read history before you even open your mouth. Look old maps. The territory of Kosovo was called dardania. Serbs changed it to Kosovo in their language so they can claimed it. dardania is the original and older name of Kosovo which is an albanian word. So whT were you saying? You come to that territory, that's what I thought

It was a theft by use of terrorism and western powers. It is now an occupied province of Serbia.

Well, according to even the most patriotic of Serbs, Serbs have lived in Kosovo for only about 0.000032% of Kosovo's history, which starts with the Earth's creation in 4.500.000.000 BC. However, I can't guarantee that the most patriotic of Serbs of correct and you could actually be right that Serbs have lived in Kosovo since 4.500.000.000 BC.

Totally false: You know there are two opinions:

1. Kosovo is a Serbian province, hence it's Serbian.
2. Kosovo is an independent state, hence it's Kosovarian.

But Kosovo is never Albanian nor Turkish.

Perhaps Turkey feels powerful, it is not far from the truth, but Serbia has the right to express disapproval of the statement of the Turkish prime minister!

i have said it once before and will say it again. complete overreaction by both serbs and albanians. i guarantee that had a russian official said serbia is russia and vice-versa, no offence would have been taken an no expansionist tendencies would have been seen in such a statement. similarly, had a yankee official said america is kosova and vice-versa, not one person would have reacted. petty Balkan tribalism is to be laughed at, not indulged. i'm trying to think what people will take offence to next

Only people who love theft - and the Turks have shown throughout history they do: their land was stolen from Christians - would make the statements their diplomats and leaders do.
Furthermore, Turkey is now heavily engaged in supporting and funneling terrorists in the Syrian war. And not only Turks, but also Albanians have died fighting there.

I wonder why serbian officials are angry about this statment ? Kosova is not Serbia so no need for serbs to be angry.

"If Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić came to Istanbul and said that it is his city, we would applaud, and would not even think that any expansionist intentions are being shown towards Turkey," the Turkish foreign minister continued.

LOL sure, because Dusan's Empire never got as far as the gates of Constantinople. Have anyone from the Greek government say that and half of Turkey would go bat sh!t crazy and convert Hagia Sophia into a mosque.

Erdgoan was in Kosovo last year when he said that that "Turkey is Kosovo and Kosovo is Turkey."

Calif Erdoğan is in fact a con artist; a manic depressive Dostoyevsky like figure, whose soul is always torn between opposite, contradictory ideas and feelings. That's why he very often has these mood swings. Sometimes pretends to be a liberal reformist and sometimes he is a man of god, a devout Muslim deeply resentful of the capitalists. On some days he's angry; throwing things around, slapping his ministers. Everybody flees. He can only be restrained by his dear wife. On other days, he visits his mothers grave, listens to religious dervish music, cries and prays a lot. A normal leader would just be sorry. He's also extremelly angry in nowadays at young people, who have now turned on him. The Gezi park protests ,according to Erdogan, were foreign orchestrated and had nothing to do with his Islamic agenda. So were the recent corruption scandals whereby AKP ministers, their relatives and even Erdogan’s son were caught with large amount of cash stuffed in shoe boxes in their own houses(proceeds from the Iran sanctions).

Bad example. It's not about a city. So, Mr. Davutoglu, I wonder if anyone in Turkey would applaud when the Greek president would come to Istanbul and say: "Eastern Thrace is Greece" (only meant as a sign of close cultural ties and common history, of course)

Anyway, what a middle eastern country thinks is none of our concern, they have other more serious issues to resolve like Kurds, erdogan going down, half of europe considering turks as personae non gratae
