It's important information when this monument was first erected.

1989-1999 was a period of much construction of Serbian monuments and churches as a form of asserting Serbian hegemony in Kosovo.

To disregard this part of the narrative is to fail to understand the situation properly

The people who do this sort of thing are going to eventually take the lead and become Europe's Pariah. We Serbs used to be the most despised and people could do anything they wanted to us and no one in the west complained. Serbia continues to improve relations with the United States and Europe and probably has better relations with a resurgent Russia and a Rising China than anyone else. Meanwhile radicalized Albanians continue to attract investment and business by knocking statues and buildings down.
If and when mass graves are found in Serbia, and I hope they do find them and I hope people are punished for them, it isn't going to hurt Serbia's image because it was the acts of the former regime. People will see that Serbia has matured and is prosecuting the old trouble makers. Meanwhile in Kosovo, you are going to have "patriots" knocking statues of poets down, the police looking elsewhere, and B92 cheer leaders talking about how great it is to knock Serbian stuff down.

Happy New Year Kosovo, your chief exports are excuses, drugs, rubble and unemployment.

This is a more than clear message to Serbs that their return to the region of Sredačka Župa has not been met with approval," a statement from the office said.

Too much of politicizing those event. It's just the the same old story: Culture-less Albanians destroying cultural monuments, just like Taliban in Afghanistan destroyed the ancient Buddha statues.

Sorry commi, I remember the Serb's most resembling the Taliban! It was Serbia that destroyed more the a few statues, they destroyed familys, civilians, city's all over Kosova, Croatia, Bosnia! The civilized world finally intervened to stop you Taliberbians!!!

These modern day kosovo albanians behave similarly to their grandparents during the nazi occupation of Serbia. You know what happened after The Serbs regained control. If you don't know what happened ask some of your elderly kin. The world is one big circle, such as life, don't be surprised of the treatment you receive once the Serbs regain control, they always do!!!

The only thing I'm surprised at over this is that the monument lasted as long as it did. I would have thought it be destroyed in one of the many previous Cultural Revolutions sponsored by Pristina's enlightened Europeans.

All the world needs to be shown are mass graves in Srebernica [sic], Croatia and Kosova and then they will know the Serbian "culture". Totally peace loving people, just ask their neighbors.
(Captain America, 9 January 2014 15:53)

By that logic, "Captain", Serbs can use Albanian violence in WWII and a series of organized mob movements since 1981 to the present as a pretext to kick out every last Albanian in northern Kosovo. Hell, carrying what passes as your logic to the end, Belgrade should organize a campaign of terror against Albanians in Presevo, seeing as how that's about as connected to Kosovo as Srebrenica is connected to this statue in Prizren.

Try thinking like something other than they stereotypes you fight against. I know it's hard, especially for keyboard warriors of the diaspora, but you're constantly trying to prove you're morally, culturally, economically, and racially superior to Serbs - or everyone else for that matter. Members of an allegedly superior culture don't behave like a pack of angry orcs. Especially not 13 years after being rescued from the clutches of oppression.

Tanjug quoted a Kosovo police spokesman in the Prizren region, Hazir Berisha, as saying that the investigation was complete and that there were no suspects in the case, but that "the motive for the theft of the bust could be the material it was made of."

Or it could be the same motive tha peace-loving Kosovo Albanians have for vandalizing and destroying churches and century-old monasteries? Which is destroying the existence of Serbian culture, while on the other hand not having any monuments of their culture itself?
