Erdogan is paying the price of being arrogant. It was obvious that the guy has lost touch with reality, saying stupidities and following a foreign policy that was fit perhaps for a country with the size and special weight of the US but was clearly unfit for turkey. Fethullah Gulen is giving him some of his own medicine. To the eyes of the US and EU, Erdogan is finished.

The question is what is going to happen after erdogan. He already tried to build a bridge with the army by offering a "reconsideration" of the decisions of the courts (controlled by Gulen) regarding ergenecon. He will fail in this too. Turkey has 2 choices, one is to go back to become a secular state. This will never happen, turkey is already too much into islam and extremists that thrive in this kind of environments. So perhaps turkey will become a mild version of iran.

Of course, what facts reveal is that turkey has no place in europe.

"The recent steps are a matter of a concern," said a statement from Olivier Bailly, the spokesperson for EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule.

The EUSSR is rife with hypocrisy. The have been supporting Erdogan and his cronies via the suppression of the secular moderate political parties. The people on the streets are protesting over corruption and against the religious merchant who's put himself and his islamist cronies on a pedestrial beyond the law,his arrogance over genuine protests against interference in personal lifestyle choices. The EU is also guilty for choosing to ignore Erdogan's antics and machinations in countries and regions as far as Tunisia,Libya,Egypt and his role in supporting Al Qaeda in Syria.

Thee continuous upheaval in Turkey seem to suggest that Erdogan is on his last legs. The only question remaining is how ugly is going to get before he's booted out.

"We urge Turkey, as a candidate country committed to the political criteria of accession, including the application of the rule of law..."

Turkey applies the rule of law! But you must know, the law in Turkey is what Mullah Erdogan and his mates say - whoever doesn't agree with him will be sent to prison, attacked by his police henchmen, or fired from state jobs like these policemen and prosecutors who dared to investigate against Erdogan's corrupt friends and family without informing the master himself first.
