Start of EU talks "historic for Serbia and W. Balkans"

The EU is simply the NATO,so i don't think that Serbia will be part of it,first of all is not in its national interests.Russia is the only alternative for Serbia,by joining alliance with Russia the Serbs can create greater Serbia,increasing its economy and army,unified peacefully Republika Srpska and Montenegro with Serbia and taking Kosovo & Metohija again by another war and deporting all Muslims Terrorists from the Serbian Kosovo to Albania-Turkey etc.About the EU integration in my opinion Serbia is just playing games with the Brussels,its not realistic and logical that Serbia to be part of the EU(NATO),its completely non sense.The election of 2012 have been a referendum for Serbia for making choices between the West(losing Kosovo and everything and isolating itself)and the East-Russia(boosting the economy-army taking Kosovo creating greater Serbia winning everything,being a strong country),
and the Serbs fortunately have decided for the second option.

This will achieve nothing !

Neither Serbia or others will be members of EU.

DS got 24% of the vote and SNS 26%. Hardly a resounding, clear vote on this supposed "referendum"

Its Ironic how only Albanians are not only commenting on the b92 news articles but you Albanians are also disliking anyone whom speaks out agaisnt the EU and NATO.

You know what? these users say about the EU and NATO is true. By the way how's that major unemployment rate?

Now the EU has no alternative, there is no other country in Europe that is more interested in joining and this is at a time when some like GB are trying to leave and others like the Ukraine are withdrawing their candidacy. In order to remain a major economic powerhouse, the EU has to grow and expand. Any retractions weaken it and even the loss of a small country like Serbia equals lost opportunity. The strategic interest in bringing Serbia into a western fold is also very much in mind in Brussels

The only real question is how far the EU will take normalization. But Every time Albanian extremists throw rocks at church goers and knock a school down, the EU appetite for spreading democracy and nation building weakens. I would not be surprised if within 5 years Kosovo had very poor relations with the EU.

Start of negotiations on Serbia's EU accession, is much important for Serbia's future in terms of economic development and political stability, there is a growing importance as a path to long-term stabilization of the Western Balkans, which has always historically been a battlefield of its inhabitants.
