Ignorance is bliss right Lenard? “December 25 on the Julian calendar actually falls on January 7 on the Gregorian calendar. So strictly speaking, Christmas is still kept on December 25, which just happens to fall 13 days later on the Julian calendar,”

Once again you embarrased yourself with your monumental stupidity. Nothing else than a croat fasist and idiot, thats what you are and you know it.

No one even knows when our Lord Jesus Christ was born. There is nothing in the New Testament about it. The Serbs, Russians, Egiptian Copts, Macedonians Belorussians, Ukrainians, Armenians, Georgians and Etiopians and the Orthodox Christians in India still follow the Julian calendar which pre-dates the Gregorian for more than 1000 years. It is just tradition as is the Christmas tree, which is an old German pagan tradition as is Serbian Yule log. There were no Christmas trees or Yule logs, nore Christmas gifts and otherthings in Judea at the time when Christ was among us.
Christ is born! Glory to Him!

You rank up there as one of the most ignorant - crude, really- individuals who comment here. You use Scripture to spread hate - sick.

@ Pete K & Danillo:

Starting with you Pete K thank you for wishing me and even all of Canada a healthy and happy 2014 but what I want to ask you is what do you mean not to have a dither or something like that?? The reason I replied to Danillo in such a manner is cause I didn't like it that he or she was blunt and perhaps even confused with my first comment.

As for you Danillo how can you be so certain that no one in Serbia or on a Serbian site cares what occurs in Fredericton?? (even though the city is nothing compared to let's say Montreal & Toronto as examples)Also why should it matter to you how I ended up on this site?? I've been accessing b92 since 2007,in fact,I've been accessing b92 since formerly residing in Bathurst (a northern New Brunswick city that's also my birthplace.)

Jesus Christ was not even born on January 7! How do the "heavanly people" Serbs even get that wrong. Oak log was used by the German pagan tribes to worship their pagan diety. Ay yay Serbs get so many things wrong where do you even start. No wonder Jesus said of the "priests". Mat 23:15

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and priests, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are. I guess ignorance is bliss to Serbs keeping in their man made up traditions of dogmas. That have nothing to to do with God of the bible and what is the living truth of his word.

I doubt anyone reads your incomprehensible, weird posts.

Are you John Bosnitch's ex-neighbor growing up or something?

@ Danilo:

What the heck is the matter with you?! How the heck is my comment incomprehensible and weird?? Surely you must understand what I typed. Do you realize that when you commented that I wrote something "incomprehensible and weird" that not only are you being blunt but you're also being rude to me.

Furthermore who is John Banistich or whatever his name is?? I don't know who he is so I don't know who the heck you're talking about. I think it's weird that you compare me to someone I never heard of. Finally if I wrote an article that's boring even somewhat juvenile I didn't mean to come off as being boring and or juvenile not that I may expect you to understand and besides if you think about it I was generally curious about gift giving with regards to Orthodox style Christmas.

With references to this article and even though there is no references to gift giving in this article I thought I ask would it be a fact that when it comes to Orthodox Christmas there is little gift giving involved or at least not much emphasis on gift giving like it is in Canada & United States in particular (from the looks of things Christmas is more commercialized in my country and U.S.A than certain other parts of the world.)Also out of curiosity and at least in Serbia does someone organize a toy drive where anyone can purchase a toy and drop it unwrapped at the toy drive where it's distributed as Xmas gifts to kids from low income families? Here in Fredericton and prior to Christmas the Regent Mall organized an annual toy drive where again I donated a couple of unwrapped items (not to sound boring but if anyone's curious I donated a small & simple die cast stock car and something a little and somewhat more sophisticated I donated was a large fire truck that makes siren noises at the touch of a button.)
