what, you mean 15 years after the war, following a string of denials that anything ever bad happened and after being put under pressure by the EU to dig its mass graves?
(Nikolle, 16 December 2013 23:21)

Oh pardon me, I'm terribly sorry you're upset that Serbia is finally acting like...well...how you and other expect them to act. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Sorry it's 15 years too late for you but Serbs have been uncovering graves as early as 2002 and have made numerous gestures at "coming to terms with the past" far better than you give them credit for, so you might want to tack off 10 years from your assessment. And yes, I'm sure we can't find any equivalent to mass graves of Serbs in Kosovo by Albanians - victims usually don't have time for such things - but please don't sit there and tell me that Albanians haven't been busy themselves since 1999.

Because if it actually is coming 15 years late, it's still one day less than admitting crimes Albanians have partaken in that anyone brings up is immediately shot down as "anti-Albanian" propaganda.

Tell you what: you go and be good Europeans and find and arrest those who killed those Serbian children in Gorazdevac, or you find the perpetrators of those who blew up that bus of Serb pilgrims in Podujevo, or you find the instigators of the March 2004 riots. You find them, you bring them to justice, and I'll take your moral positions a lot more seriously.

I watch this with great amuzement. They have excavated this area numerous times with not one result. Yes they may have found a body but this could be anyone or anything and it could be over 100 years old but forensic will work that out.
Now you Albos are so determined that there are mass graves on this site it has become an obsession and yet investigation after investigation no evidence what so ever. I understand why your doing it; EU countries are getting fed up with both Crots and Albos and your desperate to prove something.
Keep digging. The only people that killed Albanian villagers in Kosovo were your KLA led by Thaci and the CIA and US bombing.

what, you mean 15 years after the war, following a string of denials that anything ever bad happened and after being put under pressure by the EU to dig its mass graves? Serbia has been actively evading any responsibility for anything, but luckily the Hague Tribunal has dealt with its war criminals. as for Albanians and ethnic cleansing, point me to a mass grave in Kosova that is even to a 10th of this one? you can't. yeah, the angelic Serbs standing up for the truth again, as they've always done before. p.s. look to the extent the diaspora Serbs go to deny this, they even think the KLA managed to dig a mass grave inside Serbia proper. the heavenly people sure don't lack in imagination

Good for Serbia taking an active role in this. Once again, the country everyone thinks is awash in nationalism and xenophobia is once again taking a far more active role in confronting its past and role in the civil wars of the 1990s than any of its neighbors. While Croats flirt with soft-core fascism and Albanians deny any role in ethnic cleaning and continue to kill witnesses in crimes, Serbia is moving forward. Too bad those self-proclaimed champions of justice and human rights on this site's comment sections are too inept to see that.

Reading the reponses of the diaspora serbs makes one shiver. Do those people have a heart, do they realize what was done in the name of their country? I guess not, and they come up with the most redicules excuses and explanations. Simply sick vomit from sick minds, that will make any normal human being realize their state of mind.

In 2011 me and a freind of mine had a longer conversation with the chief of EULEX Missing Persons group, and we asked him why they had not been pushing harder for this perticular excavation in Raska. His answer was: The Serbian governemnt is trying to block us from getting started as long as possible, but it will happen.

No more time to hide now, face it!!!

Comments like these from those who claim as fact the organ harvesting claims when 3 investigations have never been able to reveal credible evidence, no victims have been named, no organ recipients have been found. fakelirians play a nice game with soft-hearted westerners... all over the KiM all their graves dating from 98-99 have tombstones with UCK insignias, consequently they all were more or less their "heroes", directly or indirectly participating in hostilities and carrying out or enabling genocide against indigenous people of the province - Serbs. For the outsiders they claim they all were "innocent" civilians - exactly like their coreligionists do in Afghanistan, Syria and other islamo-faschist places...even us solders now admit they were supporting wrong side in 1999!

" The people who searched before and found nothing should also answer why they didn't find anything. "

They were going on the memory of one terrified witness (who didn't dare to get of the car for fear of being recognized). The landscape had been changed since the burial - a parking lot had been put in, and an office building put up over the actual site of the bodies. This time the investigators got permission to break up the parking lot and demolish the building. These searches would probably go faster if they could get access to the records of the units charged with the reburials - if there's one thing an army does, it's keep records.

I know the words 'apology' and 'shame' exist in the Serb dictionary but do they exist in the Serbian psyche?

Why should we apologize when you dont? You celebrate every single murder of a serb and you put a murderer and a terrorist leader to be your so called "PM". It is difficult to read this all today, yes, even though i certainly have every right to scream "I told you so" again and again and again. But what's the point? Who would it bring back to life?

I do hold their media responsible for the continuing cover-up, but I don't believe the media inside Kosova acted much better. They were generally unresponsive to our war crimes reports, to these issues in general. The attitude seems to be, "it will all come out eventually - why rock the boat??" Obviously this is not my POV.

We have had some sympathetic coverage of these issues on a local tv station (S Serbia - Preseva) and on a few websites.

Yes, this is a time of great shame for Serbia, but also for the west, that has allowed this charade to continue for many years too long, at LEAst a full decade.

As I've often written, there are many more burning secrets and mass graves throughout Serbia. They will eventually come out, be opened, but only when tremendous pressure is exerted on the Belgrade regime.

Family members of all the missing, regardless of ethnicity, have a right to some kind of closure, some respect.

Meanwhile, I personally do not forgive nor forget.

But, you do her them complain of all the innocent Serb victims? I wonder, why haven't any mass graves of Serb victims been found in Kosova, the ones that were allegedly ethnically cleansed by the evil Albanians? On the contrary, dozens of mass graves containing ehtnic Albanians (HAVE) been discovered, and chances are many more of these mass graves containing the remaines of innocent Albanians, have yet to be discoverd!!! It will most likely take another 20+ years, for Serbia's monstrous crimes to be fully known!

Keep digging. The only people that killed Albanian villagers in Kosovo were your KLA led by Thaci and the CIA and US bombing.

So sad, too bad

These figures are all estimates and assumptions. nothing concrete has been found and already the albanians are salivating. albanians love this stuff. Playing the victim and screaming for justice and revenge. Its reall sad and pathetic.

I know the words 'apology' and 'shame' exist in the Serb dictionary but do they exist in the Serbian psyche?
(cry me a river, 13 December 2013 22:01)

Why should we apologize when you dont? You celebrate every single murder of a serb and you put a murderer and a terrorist leader to be your so called "PM". You have former KLA terrorists as police officers and you extracted organs from serb civilians that you killed. Apology is not a one-way street.

fakelirians play a nice game with soft-hearted westerners... all over the KiM all their graves dating from 98-99 have tombstones with UCK insignias, consequently they all were more or less their "heroes", directly or indirectly participating in hostilities and carrying out or enabling genocide against indigenous people of the province - Serbs. For the outsiders they claim they all were "innocent" civilians - exactly like their coreligionists do in Afghanistan, Syria and other islamo-faschist places...even us solders now admit they were supporting wrong side in 1999!

I am never going to appologize to anyone for being Serbian. I don't expect Albanians to appologize to me for being Albanian. The concept of collective guilt is lunatic and it is what got us all into this mess.

Comments like these from those who claim as fact the organ harvesting claims when 3 investigations have never been able to reveal credible evidence, no victims have been named, no organ recipients have been found. Truly sad isn't it. At least here we are talking numbers as the article states "remains" have been found!

what, you mean 15 years after the war, following a string of denials that anything ever bad happened and after being put under pressure by the EU to dig its mass graves?

Whatever groups and individuals committed attrocities, they should answer for them. The people who searched before and found nothing should also answer why they didn't find anything. If there is going to be peace ALL war crimes must be exposed and all perpatrators must be punished so that regular people can go on with their lives

I agree with you, marKo.
I would also add that war criminals - of ALL ethnicities - should answer for their crimes.

Those who comment here promoting the dangerous concept of collective guilt only hamper the healing process.

what, you mean 15 years after the war, following a string of denials that anything ever bad happened and after being put under pressure by the EU to dig its mass graves? Serbia has been actively evading any responsibility for anything, but luckily the Hague Tribunal has dealt with its war criminals. as for Albanians and ethnic cleansing, point me to a mass grave in Kosova that is even to a 10th of this one? you can't. yeah, the angelic Serbs standing up for the truth again, as they've always done before. p.s. look to the extent the diaspora Serbs go to deny this, they even think the KLA managed to dig a mass grave inside Serbia proper. the heavenly people sure don't lack in imagination

Huh???
