And if and when negotiations begin - no one knows for sure. The bottom line is that Serbia is trying to implement EU standards in many areas of life, not just lip service to adopt standards.

You are sadly mistaken, these talks are not "negotiations". The EU has set down guidelines Serbia must adhere to and will decide if Serbia has met them. Serbia cannot alter the conditions, if she could then that would be considered negotiations.

Serbia needs to make efforts to make structural reforms, not because of the influence of the EU and possible membership, but for the betterment of all citizens of Serbia. And if and when negotiations begin - no one knows for sure. The bottom line is that Serbia is trying to implement EU standards in many areas of life, not just lip service to adopt standards.
