Not that I am a in anyway a Tory sympathiser, but the "Hang Mandela" posters were from a very extreme Thatcherite student group that Cameron was never part of and Osborne was still at school at the time they were produced. Both can convincingly claim that (on this ocassion) neither was ever part of that faction.

Yeh, Cameron has tried to distance himself from his youth as it wasn't doing his PR any favours. It is marvellous what a spin doctor can do.

"That slimy **** Cameron didn't show his true colours. In his statement, he conveniently forgot to mention the sick "Hang Mandela" posters he put up at Eton College and his former Pro-Apartheid views. It wasn't just Cameron who put up these disgusting posters and held these horrible views, it was that clown the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson as well; Chancellor of the Exchequer Gideon 'George' Osborne was probably involved too because he has been close friends with them two since their Eton College days. I think it is disgusting and sickening that these horrible vile people are exploiting the death of a true hero for their own personal gain and popularity."

British Prime Minister David Cameron said that with Mandela's passing "a great light had gone out," and added that flags would be lowered at half-mast at the seat of the British government.

"Nelson Mandela was a towering figure in our time; a legend in life and now in death - a true global hero," Cameron's statement said.

The US is no better either, Mandela wasn't removed from the US terror watch list until 1st July 2008 when Mandela was 89 years old.

RIP Mandela!
