BiH would recognize Kosovo if it wasn't for nationalistic Bosnian Serbs in Bosnia's smaller entity.

Muslims and Catholics of Bosnia (Bosniaks and Bosnian Croats) have no issues with Kosovo. RS Bosnians are just doing this in favor of Serbia.

@Anna:

After reading your comments I have to ask is that why some Bosnian Muslims don't want to recognize Kosovo's sovereignty all because there are worries that some members of the Muslim-Croat federation will want to secede from Bosnia? I had a tendency to assume that Bosnian Muslims generally have a mutual understanding with Kosovar-Muslims.

Bosnia won't recognise Kosovo and it won't be opposed/ vote against Kosovo from joining international organisations either. It'll abstain because Bosnia is neutral on Kosovo.

And you know this how?
Bosnia is not neutral. They would recognise Kosovo tomorrow if it weren't for RS.
I don't know what they will do when time comes to vote, if it comes but you don't either unless you have some inside knowledge.
Do you?

Bosnia has much bigger issues to concern itself with than whether or not it recognises Kosovo. This gentleman speaks a lot of sense when he points out that revision of the Dayton Agreement is unrealistic and that the future of his country is at the heart of Europe. Should all the Balkan countries join the EU, many of the arguments that have been plaguing them over the recent past will become irrelevant. I am not so naïve as to think that centuries old tensions will suddenly disappear but at least daily life ought to be a bit more predictable and free from petty wrangling.

Lenard, it must be a very miserable life you have to live with so much poison inside you.
Just accept that Serbia is not going anywhere and Serbs are going to continue to be your neighbours and life will be so much better for you.
You really love that word 'criminal'.

i think this decision is stupid and short-sighted. i get the part about the "quiet" threat emanating from the belgrade regime - not to mention that fascist in banya luka - but what is the point of being an independent country when everything you decide is dependent on a foreign country - one that recently committed genocide ag yr ppl on your land, and now denies it... that is a really bad place to be. Dayton has to be "updated" to allow for a real country to exist and develop.

The present situation is not sustainable. the west (eu,US) needs to guarantee Bosnia's security and help it to evolve and eventually join the EU.

and it is long time to recognize Kosova...

At least we got Montenegro (Serbia's right hand) and Macedonia to recognize us back in October of 2008. That was unexpected, and it sure did shock us all. By now we have more than majority of the world that has recognized Kosova. Do we really care if Bosnia recognizes Kosova or not? It really doesn't make a dent in the list of recognition we have received. Bosnia Croatia and Kosova will always remember that our enemy is Serbia and that will never change regardless how many Brussels meetings we have, or what agreements we sign. Serbia has been put on NOTICE world wide. It is in the history books, and that you will never be able to change.

Bosnian ambassador says his country "won't recognize Kosovo" then again he is a Serb. Just like Bosnia and Croatia don't recognize "Srpska entity" aka greater Serbia in criminally occupied Bosnia by criminal Serbia. As the Croatian and Bosnian parliaments never ratified Dayton nor should they. As the criminally duped minority Serbs of Bosnia were also so furious. That criminal instigator Serbian president Slobodan of greater criminal war mongering Serbia signed Dayton which is useless. We will wait for criminal Serbia to implode in every way on its rottenness. Which by all analyses will be exhilarated next year to Serbia's own self imposed destruction of unrepresented criminal folly's. None of Serbia's neighbours will shed a tear for its demise of its bloody home grown stupid criminal idiocies. Serbia had decades to do rite by its neighbours. By negotiating in good faith but keeps doing totally the opposite by criminal doings of subterfuge.

Bosnia and Herzegovina wont recognized Kosovo as an independent state, because it would be in this case and the Republic of Serbian and Muslim - Croat Federation try to seek their secession from BiH. What would be the cause of new conflicts, and it is not anyone's interest.
