Coach of the Serbian football team Siniša Mihajlović confirmed late on Tuesday that he will leave the position and become the coach of Italy's Sampdoria.

It's hardly surprising he has chosen to leave. The Serbian national squad are perennial underachievers, who seem utterly incapable of beating even the most mediocre teams. And when it comes to playing their neighbours like Croatia they fold like a pack of cards. Embarrassing. Team spirit and the will to succeed is nowhere to be seen. I guess their pay cheques are what really motivates them not representing their nation. Whoever takes over, has his job cut out for him.
