What are the Albanians doing in Kosovo? Nothing.
(Paul, 8 November 2013 23:55)

This is the most amazing sentence that I've probably ever read in these forums... I almost fell off the chair laughing.

So what are the Germans doing in what's called today, Germany ? Nothing
So what are the Americans doings in what's called today USA ? Nothing
So what the the Brazilians doing in what's called today Brazil ? Nothing
and so on...

What do you expect them to do, dear ?

The Serbs have already got Kosovo back. Albanians are just squatting there, pampered by the "international community". Just because you take up space somewhere doesn't mean that space belongs to you. What are the Albanians doing in Kosovo? Nothing. They are just sitting around conspiring to grab something else that doesn't belong to them. Whatever problems the Roma have, at least they don't go around claiming nationhood every time they squat in sufficient numbers.

how much time do you think it'll take, so we can all prepare ourselves?
(Nikolle, 8 November 2013 11:04)

If I may remind you that Serbs are very patient people. They waited for 500 years to get Kosovo back, so it's not a big problem for them to wait until 2608. And if they can't get it back by 2608, guess what... They have no problem waiting for another 600 years and so on :)

The Serbs in the Kosovo will vote second time between worse life and the worst life because they are only instrument in the hands of politicans irrespective of their nationality or political beliefs.

BEcause no Serb can vote without recognizing Kosovo independence the same thing is going to happen. Its not enough that the elections are entirely run by the republic of Kosovo central elections commission but that all ballots have the republic of Kosovo central election commission logo!

This is becoming all too boring, boring, boring... Whatever Serbia tries, it will not get Kosovo back. Better install another govt as the current is made of "jelly" with no backbone. Come on Serbian citizens, stand up and be counted. Don't let this present govt pull the wool over your eyes. Oh, such a shame to see Serbia slide downhill. It's a beautiful country with many wonderful people.

It is only a question of time before Serbs get Kosovo back. The Albanians are unfit to govern it or anything else and the "international community" is going to be tired of babysitting them too much longer. The elections don't really matter all that much and that is as good as reason as any for the Serbs to turn out for these election. Just having elections at all is a thumb in the eye for the Albanians.
(Paul, 7 November 2013 22:21)

Your wish is real as much as as if you tell me that; you are building a house on planet mars and you would live happy ever after.

I love Kosovo and it is Serbia, but I have faced the fact that our people have been abandoned by the Government of Serbia. This is a fact that I won't even bother to debate with anyone. No one can tell me that the Government of Serbia is working for the best interests of the Serbs in Kosovo. The Politicians of Serbia have failed to look above their own interests in favour of anyone elses. I think that our people in Kosovo might be somewhat better off if they vote, but by how much? Who will listen to their elected officials when not even the government of Serbia would? What sway would they have in local politics?

Therefor I will not presume to advise them either way. I truly think they should do what ever they think is in their best interests because NO ONE else will look out for them and they have to bear all the costs. I understand that this is heart breaking, but it is reality.

Either these N Mitro Serbs are terrorists, in denial or know there's no going back but are boycotting the elections so they can negotiate with Belgrade and get more $$.

Serbs will lose either way. I'm not sure if it's going to be K Serbs or Serbs from Serbia.

pre 10 godina

Of course everyone knows that an Albanian mayor is not going to be a success but Serbs are missing a very big point. Belgrade can no longer fund the illegal leaders of the north and continue their EU path so they will be forced to make a decision. Not send any money until the Serbs in the north are the ones to suffer, Send money to the Albanian mayor and hope it is distributed to the Serb structures, or abandon the EU for a bunch of people who want to throw the present administration out.
Certainly some one like sj, comm par, or the others who constantly talk of no way Kosovo can survive on its own, can tell you that the north will be dead long before any collapse with nothing coming in from Belgrade.

Let's say Serbs boycott the elections, the Brussels agreement (which took a very long time and much effort to be achieved) fails, what's next?! Go back to war? Isolate the country? Go back to the old circle? Either way Serbia will never have Kosovo back every Serb knows that very well. People, let's be rational. Serbia is a weak country today, there isn't much that they can do for Serbs in Kosovo. Even the DSS, say they get elected, will they bring Kosovo back to Serbia???

LOL! An ethnic Albanian as mayor of K-Mitro is untenable. He will have as much influence as the mayor of Pristina, a Serb living in Gracanica. The only option Serbs have is to boycott just as they previously have. This will ensure that an association of Serb municipalities under Pristina fails.

If this was about democracy then this was made very clear in the recent referendum where 99% of Serbs rejected Pristina. Now the NATO servants in Belgrade have to threaten citizens to vote, claiming they will otherwise lose their jobs and income.

Those Serbs in KiM deserve much respect for their strength!

Camilla

Now, it's very important to vote. It would not imply the recognition of Kosovo, these are only local elections in which they must choose the Serbs for the benefit of themselves.
