Does anyone think the Hague or UNSC is stupid enough to say ok we will send convicted war criminals that you regard as national heroes and some which you helped hide for years back to you to oversee their imprisonment?

It's very easy for the NATO court to engineer delays. Seselj went on hunger strike as he was denied his right to defend himself. The NATO court admitted it was wrong and reversed that decision. Whose fault was that delay? It had taken years to even start his trial and if he really wanted to delay it, he would have presented his defense and delayed it a few more years. His case finished about 2 years ago and the multiple deadlines to deliver a verdict were not met. Yes, it is very obvious who is responsible for the delays.

LOL! Are we supposed to take this NATO court seriously?

If you read your own link you will find that the removed judge complained in an email his opinion that the American judge was overly pushing for acquittal of both Croatian and Serbian defendents. Seselj's complaint was that this judge had a bias toward conviction, a panel felt he was right and he was removed, it actually had nohing to do with the American judge. One of the safety factors set up is that there are 3 judges on each case so it takes at least 2 of the 3 to convict.
The issue in this case is that the court allowed itself to be manipulated by Seselj and Milosevic and more than likely Karadic.

Zoran, How many hundreds of delays were because of Seselj himself??? And hundreds is not an exaggeration. Everything from hunger strike to feigning depression to countless legal maneuvers. He is a smart man and he would rather spend the rest of his life at the Hotel Hague than in a prison in a counry other than Serbia.

Did anyone bother to ask when Seselj's trial will conclude? Where are we now? Have we reached 12 years yet? A 10 year trial (where Seselj decided not to put up a defense) and after two years, the judges still have no verdict? Oh, lets not forget that one of the judges has been dismissed for revealing that the tribunals president (an American) has been manipulating verdicts, especially the one against Croatia.

The trouble began in June, when Judge Harhoff’s now infamous email was leaked to the Danish media. In it, he criticises the controversial acquittals of Gotovina and his co-accused Mladen Markac.....

The letter, emailed to 56 contacts, also alleges that the Hague tribunal’s president, American judge Theodor Meron, applied “tenacious pressure” to colleagues in a way that “makes you think he was determined to achieve an acquittal” for Gotovina and Perisic.
