In my opinion, lurid is absence of any sanctions to Croatia by the EU, no condemnation of this outrageous behavior. What should we expect - that every town where Serbs make up a third of the population declare as cities special reverence?

It's a shame that Croatia was admitted into the European family of nations that respect human rights and national minorities, and 18 years after the bloody war, the Croats not only interfere Serbs (4% of the list), but even their letter.

Any chance of Jasenovac being declared a place of special reverence too.Far more died there!! Perhaps no signs in Latin script would help on the road to repentence.

Serbian civilians died in Vukovar too, but I wouldn't let that bother your average neanderthal racist Croatian Nationalist. I have heard that the Croatians are reinventing their language, and removing words that are too Serbian, have they removed the words 'forgiveness' and 'tolerance' from 'their' language too?
(miles, 4 November 2013, 21:06) No no miles not at all those aren't Serbian words as Serbia has no words as those. Yes you are absolutely rite Serbians http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Vukovar died and were murdered in the beautiful Croatian Vukovar. Artillery shelled from Serbia side of the Danube river bombed ,sniped etc. Then the fascist aggressors Serbian chetniks from Serbia summarily murdered Croatian Serbs. That wanted only live in peace with dozens of other nationalities in Vukovar Croatia. I hope Serbia goes after the Serb/Serbian war criminals that murdered Croatian Serbs but I won't hold my breath. As your president and prime minister are the same supporters from Serbia's criminal war expansionist greater Serbia of 1990's. If you need clarifying of Serbia's convoluted history. Now working in Subterfuge don't be hesitant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPDpN6xiQiE to ask. The truth will set you free from Serb politicians criminal lies and shameless delusional self serving propaganda. They have to keep the Serbian masses distracted in perpetual delusional psychoses as they rob Serbs literally and figuratively of having ever a normal future.

100% - thats the percentage of times I come here and read a comment that talks about something that happened 70 years. So here is my question to you Serbs, if jasenovac was an atrocity (and it was), then Vukovar was an atrocity committed by Serbs. The difference is Vukovar is almost recent history while WW2 ended almost 70 years go...if you can't let go of WW2...how do you expect Croatians to let go of something that is far more recent?

It never fails, every single time I come here there are WW2 comments about Jasenovac. Here's a question. Based on the last war, what country from the former Yugo has committed the majority of war crimes? answer: Serbia!

take your lumps, move on and stop trying to claim other people's land...I used to think Serbs and Montenegrans are close friends but was startled when Montenegro separated from Serbia. The last war was unnecessary, Milosevic was a crazy Nationalistic man that Serbs supported, what did you expect the Republics do...watch as he enforces Velika Srbija on the rest on the Nation? There were far too many signs that everyone in the former Yugo saw that pointed to an unfriendly government, unless you were a Serb, Communism was falling BUT you expected Croats and Slovenes to stay behind the rest of Europe and live in communism?

Many people were murdered in Vukovar, it ended up being a pile of rubble but you want to talk about Jasenovac...I'm glad cirilica will never be on any Croatian wall in Vukovar!

From President of the European Parliament Martin Schultz himself:

http://english.blic.rs/News//10003/Martin-Schulz-European-Parliament-Speaker-EU-not-closing-door-to-new-members

"The criteria for the membership are already very difficult, so there is no need for additional requests. However, it is worth while fulfilling those criteria not only because of the membership but because that would be very useful for the citizens of Serbia. Those criteria include functional democracy, respect of law, protection of minorities, adoption of the EU laws, capability to function in the unique EU market and some others’, Schultz explains.:

And they still let Croatia in and give Pristina a free pass. What a joke, here, in black and white from the head of the European Parliament. They're on drugs.

We will dictate how 'our' country is run and not by some un-shaven Chetnik peasants with grade 3 education.. Another victory for common sense in Croatia - Well Done !

Says the American redneck with the shaved head and a second grade education wanting to raise his kids with some trailer park wife in the NDH way. Your credibility to anything Croatian is nil, yet you still come to a Serbian site to spew your intolerance and hatred towards it people. You're too stupid to realize how dumb you are, but then again, that's usually the case with Croatian nationalists.

The Croatian Government sent a delegation to London about two weeks ago seeking UK investment in Croatia. They met with officials who told them that only after all signed agreements are fulfilled then and only then will EU companies consider investing in Croatia. The delegation left empty handed.
Prior to this meeting the head of HDZ, Karamarko, went to Berlin seeking Merkel’s approval over this Cyrillic ban. He left Berlin a very unhappy man. It is rumoured that little Angela refused outright to support the hardliner stand and also supposedly stated that not a Euro will be directed to Croatia to assist with fulfilling those agreements because Croatia has already been given this money and their politicians have taken everything.
The picture as it stands is that Croatia will sink into poverty that will make Albania look like Switzerland. Croatia is now considered as a fascist country with no hope of recovery and the only course of action is to dismember it.

Oh come on guys, stop crying. Vukovar is a n Croatian town, just like Osijek, Zadar, Varazdin etc. and in these towns and cities, Croatian is spoken, Catholisism is practiced. Why? because it is Croatia. If the Serbian population want their cyrillic alphabet then they can cross the boarder and live in Serbia.

Serbian civilians died in Vukovar too, but I wouldn't let that bother your average neanderthal racist Croatian Nationalist.

It's so depressing, what future does the world have... I mean do these people have any empathy, do they have a memory that goes back beyond the nineties, do they remember what the Croatian state did to its Serbian community during WW2? Imagine if the population of Berlin was still 30% Jewish today, and they had to use Hebrew in signage as stated in EU law. Could you imagine what the world would think if a bunch of German Nationalists started ripping down signs with Hebrew text?

If ever you wanted to site a group of people as an example as to why the future of humanity is bleak it would be your average unrepentant shameless Croatian Nationalist.

I have heard that the Croatians are reinventing their language, and removing words that are too Serbian, have they removed the words 'forgiveness' and 'tolerance' from 'their' language too?

Looks like the Croatian fascists finally won a battle against Serbs. I'm sure this will be cast as a major holiday in the small, but overly emotional, calendar of Defense of the Croatian Homeland, or whatever those nutballs call it :)

Congratulations Croatia! Your land, your rights. Serbs in Vukovar can live without cyrillic alphabet without no problem. But the truth is, serbs want cyrillic alphabet so that in the future they can claim vukovar as their own. cyrillic alphabet, what next? a statue of Mladic? Serbs is trying to make vukovar serb by asking for cyrillic alphabet, and then for a statue etc.
