This all feels like completing a mathematical proof. You already know the conclusion - it just remains to methodically demonstrate how one arrives at the answer. These journalists were undoubtedly liquidated by mafia thugs hired by the state - common practice in countries like Serbia, Montenegro, China and Russia. Matic knows very well who lay behind the murders of Vukasinovic, Curuvija, and Pantic...just imagine the kind of hurdles he faces while pushing for cooperation by a government led by the likes of Alexander Vucic and Ivica Dacic - two men who, in their past political lives, were close allies of the monsters in power when the hits were perpetrated. It's almost painful to read these quarterly updates from B92: we know that the goverment will do everything that it can to run out the clock on this investigation. I think the only hope we have of ever seeing anything that remotely resembles justice is if an entirely new goverment composed of members with no ties to the dark days of the 90s were to take power in the next few years and immediately address crimes such as these. Otherwise, Vucic and Dacic will see to it that the truth never sees the light of day. Instead, they'll continue to posture on the issue, swearing that they're doing everything possible, promising that they're nearing breakthroughs - but never actually doing anything meaningful. Credit Matic for trying: if nothing else, he's keeping the issue alive for anyone who actually cares to tackle it.
