Taiwan is a country, Kosovo is not. Perhaps more albanians should attend Belgrade universitet to finaly educate yourselves.

I believe you are missing the point. Whether Taiwan is an independent nation, disputed territory or a bandit state, is totally irrelivent. Nowhere in the article does it mention the "nation of Taiwan", only that Belgrade University is on it's list of worlds best universities, I don't think anyone is disputing that Taiwan is a place and has a list!, and on this list is Belgrade university, a prestigious institution with an excellent academic record, and ranked at 339th in the world of the best universities and also the best by far in the region. It was also rated in the Shanghai list,, Shanghai not being an independent nation, but a city of china, which also is not the point of the article. Truth, you are just lashing out in frustration and trying to retaliate in some form with your ridiculous comment, so to Danilo with his request in finding the definition of a country. You cannot accept the fact, so you want to debate on a topic that has no relevance to this article. Not being able to restrain ones self from attacking and defaming a whole nationality and creating some type of argument for the sake of jealousy shows a lack of maturity, vindictiveness and most certainly low intelligence. Being the best university in the region, I'm sure many Abanian, Croatian, Bosnian, as well as Arab, Afican and Asian students would love and be privelaged to study and earn their degree's and doctorates from such a fine institution, wouldnt you agree?!

You should learn a little more about world affairs.

More countries recognize Kosovo as a country than Taiwan. So far only 23 countries officially recognize Taiwan since the PRC got its seat in the UN - most of them little tropical micro statelets. Taiwan does not have a seat in the UN.

So, Mike. Tell us. By what criteria is a country a country?

It's a salient point. People here are always saying that Kosovo isn't a country because it's not in the UN, but Taiwan isn't in the UN and 4x as many countries recognize Kosovo than Taiwan.

It's pertinent to ask people who insist that Kosovo isn't a country whether Taiwan is.
