@sj.........I can tell you now that I would rather have Croatia in the dark ages then have Serbian lettering in my face all day every day

"in your face"??? You live in the USA. You have NO place saying how Croatia should or shouldn't be, especially wishing it be in "the dark ages", when you can probably count on one hand how many times you've been there.

Like your HDZ Croatia is no longer what it was in the 1990s. It’s a former shell of itself where it spent all its money from the breakup of Yu and then went into debt building roads few would use and now Croatia is broke with its government selling everything that is not nailed down. At last week’s meeting in New York the IMF refused to lend any low interest money to Croatia – tells you a lot.
Your father of your nation stole the most with his children now being extremely wealthy while people like you have to pay off that debt.
The EU will either have the Cyrillic alphabet or your people will be classified as fascists and they will destroy you.

Leave it to the Serbs to make trouble over something as signs and even call it bilingual. Does Stani mean something else in Serbian? Funny how there were never cyrillic signs needed before the war. I just feel bad for Croatian Serbs who barely exist thanks to retarded Belgrade politics, but are still played like toys by a irrational Belgrade policy on Croatia. This has never ended well for Croatian Serbs..

"According to reports, members of the police also took part in the latest instances of removal of the signs."

Strange police. They should be fired immediately for not adhering to state laws and taking part in acts of vandalism. Sorry, in a state where even police officers don't adhere to laws, who should?

Mr. K,

These are some of the benefits that Croatia can look forward to receiving for become a member of the EU. Croatia sold it's soul to the EU, Croatian citizens and Zagreb have no say in the matter, it is a requirement by their overloads in Brussels.

@sj.........I can tell you now that I would rather have Croatia in the dark ages then have Serbian lettering in my face all day every day. We survived as a people under Serb lead YU we will survive again.. By the way the HDZ you know now is not the mighty HDZ that once was. Once the father of our nation went to heaven the country turned to garbage. Long live the HCSP.

I seen dumb people but some of you Croats surely take the trophy for the silliest on two legs.. Your beloved HDZ signed the agreement with Brussels to have signs in two languages where a sizable monitory lives in that region. Milanovic is only trying to implement what was already signed and your calling him a coomie/UDB.
It is a EU requirement and its either signs in two languages or Brussels will turn Croatia into a poorer state than Albania so you can people power all you like.

Mr K

At the end of the day.......people power will win, just look back In history.

The police are slowly turning sides against Milanovic as they can see what the real truth is.

Mr K

Some people just never learn, people power will win, people power brought down communism and the issue in Vukovar is a tiny needle in the haystack. Eventually the signs will go down permanently now or sometime in the near future as long as the people power constantly put up the pressure on the Milanovic UDBa communist government......they have NO choice than to concede.

Its the Balkans..... who is going to listen to a bunch of old commies turned democratic about what can and can't be done. Why should the Serbian alphabet be plastered all over the place. Detroit in the U.S has a large muslim population and so does many towns in Germany but you will never see arabic written on government buildings. The Balkans truly are in a sad state of affairs. Only un-educated fools want a return to YU and only fools keep saying that those ethnic groups involved in the Balkan wars can actually work together = No the way things currently are they can't. The Croatian veterans association sent a proposal to the Mayor of Novi Sad asking if a monument to the victims of JNA aggression on Vukovar could be erected, he said NO. Why do we bother with these things when at the moment unemployment is rising, corruption is high, everyone from Croatia and Serbia would rather live in Germany then in their own contries. The only way forward is when all these commo's are ousted and a new generation of educated forward thinking people can run the country the way it should be.
