EU, OSCE: Pride Parade ban was wrong decision

Officials of the EU, the U.S. and OSCE expressed deep disappointment over<a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics.php?yyyy=2013&mm=09&dd=27&nav_id=87819" class="text-link" target= "_blank"> the decision by the Serbian authorities to cancel Belgrade Pride Parade</a>.

icj- you must live in a bubble. That is exactly how it would be portrayed I'm sure. Of course the western media are so Serb friendly and would point out what heores we are for having the parade. They wouldn't show some poor gay person being beaten up by those horrible Serbs of course. Your are a deceitful and malevolent type. Stick to pointless semantics.

Ok, so according to your logic the parade was banned in order to avoid the Western media speak badly about Serbia because of the violence that some criminals would have caused during the parade.

Now, let's apply this logic of yours to other matters. Tomorrow, Albanians in Presevo might threaten violence against Serbs unless Serbia agrees for Presevo to become part of Kosovo. Serbia will then agree to Presevo becoming part of Kosovo in order to avoid the Western media speak badly about Serbia because of the violence that Albanians in Presevo would otherwise cause!!!!

Do you realize that you are saying that Serbs should act depending on what Western media says. This is probably the most unpatriotic logic that I've ever seen in these forums.

It shows one thing: Serbian government is giving in to violent hooligans instead of defending human rights and their own laws. It's like in Mexico where police doesn't dare to proceed against powerful drug mafia clans, or like in Kosovo where police turns a blind eye on ethnically motivated crimes. A sign of a weak state.

And like some other posters wrote, I think, too that the current Serbian government is good friend with some of these extremists and hooligans who threat with violence.

Sometimes I wonder if they would have preferred violence and criminal damage on the the TV screens so they can go say Serbia is not ready. The state protected the LGBT by calling it off. There were real risks here. Our enemies (incl icj and crybaby for instance) would have loved the bad press we would have gotten if it all went belly up. They have no interest in gay rights, just negative press for Serbia.

Dear, I'm don't know you so have no reason to be your enemy... Anyway, Serbia certainly got the bad press with surrendering to criminals. As far as the police fighting against criminals to maintain or restore law and order, I would never consider that bad press - it's just police doing its job. Not sure why you'd consider it bad press!

What right has The American Embassy to tell Serbia what they should do after Obama has contaminated law with homosexual sin? Serbia made the righteous decision, well done! Gay attempts at a take over brings forth God's judgement against you. http://www.defendthefamily.com/pfrc/newsarchives.php?id=8166212

Instead of a parade, Serbia's gays should go to to EU and offer their back sides. At least this way EU would be screwing them and not Serbia!!

Such a shame countries like Turkey, Brazil, Bulgaria among others are able to hold gay parades annually with no issues but not Serbia! I mean come on, TURKEY but not Serbia?! Isn't Serbia more European and democratic?!

A couple of comments from a couple of resident homophobes. You guys seem to miss the message here, it is all about securing basic human rights for the citizens of Serbia, which is the law. Are you going to tell me that little Belgrade cannot secure a safe parade for a group of its citizens for the last three years now? That a group of hooligans, which are in most probability controlled by certain members of government, are stronger than all the police and security agencies in Serbia? If the price of holding the parade was some civil disobedience by a group of far right retards, so be it. If all the members of government supported human rights for its citizens, the Pride parade could be held with much consequence but, they, many members of government are vocal homohobes, including the prime minister and interior minister, Mr. Dacic, and do not view that human rights should be guaranteed to all.

EU, OSCE: Pride Parade ban was wrong decision. Good job Serbia yore not brainwashed by the queer perversion agendas. They think they are smarter then God pathetic bunch of EU moronic bureaucrats. They believe they can shove down peoples throats and brainwash the overwhelming majority to support the parades of immorality's. The tax payers their bosses should finally kick out the retarded useless "E"U bureaucrats. The only job the EU idiots are qualified is shoving manure around. As country's economy's shrunk 25% and large segments of society having 70% unemployment in the "prosperous EU" what a cruel joke. The rest are paying ever increasing exuberant taxes for a unelected EU BS bureaucrats another level of useless government greed helping them self's at the trough. Just another on a larger grander dumber scale failed Yugoslavia project. The "EU" idioticy will be a bigger failure in every way run by dead brain morons with their heads in each other asses. Their propaganda of BS would put communist and fascist propaganda to to shame.
