I am always perplexed on the Kosovo Albanian distortion of facts and how they elude to admit the reality of the subject at hand. 1. The UN still has approximately 376 International staff members working in Kosovo. Not the 10, that are claimed in the comments. 2. Under UN Resolution 1244, the EULEX has no authority on their own merit. The EULEX is only present on an amendment/addendum under 1244 that allows them to work under the United Nations or "UNMIK". 3. With 1244 still active, Kosovo's "Independence" is only provisional. Until they reach "unanimous" recognition by the United Nations Security Council, they are still legally considered a providence of Serbia. If they had actual true independence, they would not have to barter for recoginition from Serbia and would be afforded all rights given to all sovereign nations. 4. Kosovo's government does not have complete authority. United Nations/EULUX have to approve any governmental decisions made in Pristina and NATO Forces, "KFOR" have to approve any military/security forces matters before they go into effect. It is like a teenager saying they are "Independent" from their parents, even though they live in their parents house, eat their food and receive money for doing their chores. So please, in future if you are going to argue about matters, be factual and stop relying on only emotional responses.

You missed the point, dear... UNSCR 1244 is indeed on the books and will be there for a long time to come; indeed Kosovo itself has included in its Declaration of Independence and Constitution (something that Serbia for all of its talk has not done) because UNSCR 1244 prevents Serbian troops from returning to Kosovo (except for an "AGREED" number). However, UNSCR 1244 being on the books and UNMIK governing Kosovo are not necessarily the same thing.

Just to get an idea what that means take a look at http://www.unmikonline.org/regulations/unmikgazette/02english/Econtents.htm and you might want to guess what happened on June 15, 2008 where everything stops in regards to UNMIK governing Kosovo :)

So I take back my first comment, go ahead and dismiss what Ron says as he really has no clue.

Obviously English is not your 1st language otherwise you wouldn't ask for clarification, perhaps I should of written in Serbian to make it easier for you. Thanks for explaining yourself though, again, for the third time I might add, and directly to me, an insignificant person who lives on the other side of the world, yet you still feel and need the urge to report back and explain yourself again and again and again....I will not add to my original comment as I made myself clear the first time, but do feel free to dwell on it, as irritating as it may be for you, you still continue with your compulsion. Knowing that there are people like you, prisoners of the mind, makes me appreciate how fortunate I am in the fact that I am free and don't have to ask you any questions or remind you how independent an individual I am,, I will now have breakfast and go for a surf (at the beach, not on my computer). People do not dismiss Ron too quickly this time, he may have the answer. Since he claims UNMIK and EULEX are synonymous then there is no need to keep the guys wearing UNMIK patches at all.
Ron can continue to "claim" UNMIK controls Kosovo, Pristina will be rid of them, and Serbs will still be standing around scratching their head not knowing what is happening(did the govt give it away, do we still have it? Do we take orders from Pristina or Belgrade? Who is going to pay us?)
Everyone is happy, or don't know better.
(a New Day, 24 September 2013 04:04)

Nope. EULEX and UNMIK are not the same. EULEX works 'under' UNMIK. So UN keeps in control.
For the rest: let UNMIK/EULEX/others do there job and hope there will be a Mutual agreed deal eventually. Then a UNSC solution is needed. Et voila: problem solved!

@insignificant person without a name...
Maybe some of your comments need clarification, I have not seen where The people of Kosovo has been seeking approvals from Serbia anywhere, I think they have made it perfectly clear that they do not want to sit at the table with Serbia and play this charade, but like Serbia is forced to come to table and make agreements or concessions to Pristina in order to move closer to the EU, so also is Kosovo forced to sit at the table and play the game with Belgrade in order to keep the much needed support of the west for their sovereignty.
The comments about if they were really independent they would not have to say it, is ludicrous and you know it, as you and your comrades are constantly trying "in vain" to claim that Serbia still owns them, the only thing is you are saying it from across a recognized border you cannot breach. The funny part is you cannot say "this is my land" you have to say "that is my land" hoping someone believes you and there is a big difference in the two.

A few questions for desperate nameless Serb:
What country complains to the UN or EU if things are not to their liking within their own borders?
What country has to ask permission from anyone else for their govt officials to visit their own country?
What country bows to international pressure to have its citizens vote in elections called by anyone else?
What country establishes a line(whether you want to admit it is a border or not) has their agents and the contested agents man the crossing together?
What country agrees or rather insists to a "status neutral" approach to whether a section of their country is independent or still a part of their country?
Only one in history that I know but what difference does the name of that country make?

you K Albanians are indeed an odd people, you say your independent yet constantly seek the approval of Serbia in international political talks and negotiations of agreements, and your diaspora, constantly on Serb websites , arguing the fact you are free, trying to convince insignificant B92's Serb diaspora whose opinions don't matter when it comes to international politics.
as long as you NEED to do this it shows that you are infact not free. What free independent nation on earth needs to negotiate with another foreign country (this case Serbia) about its international status?, and which free people argue to the death that they are free, very strange! Is it so important to an independent nation what little insignificant Serbia recognises and what it does not? Im free because I don't need to convince people that I am. Let's wait to see what Mr Ban has to say about his various meetings, because the B92 report contains nothing from the esteemed Secretary General. No leader is likely to say that a meeting with someone in such a position was a disaster and will try to spin it positively as both Nikolic and Thaci have done.

He failed to mention that Ban also met with Thaci who informed him of the problems in Kosovo and dealing with Serbia also.
I like the part about how Kosovo wants to "now" portray the elections as those in an internationally recognized state. I wonder what day this week that happened(tongue in cheek)? As Kosovo has been portraying them that way from the start.
Does the average Serb not realize the size of UNMIK today? To reduce the size now would be the removal of fax machines and printers. I believe the number is somewhere around 10 international and a handful of local staff.
And it is doubtful if Ban used the term "provisional institutions".

(ben, 23 September 2013 16:53)

Really? So you say that provincial (!) parliament has the authority to overrule a decision of the UNSC?

@Too funny, to funy 2 Funi
Have a funny day, funny person ;)

Let's wait to see what Mr Ban has to say about his various meetings, because the B92 report contains nothing from the esteemed Secretary General. No leader is likely to say that a meeting with someone in such a position was a disaster and will try to spin it positively as both Nikolic and Thaci have done.

@insignificant person without a name...

OK so we have:

So more or less: UNMIK = EULEX.

Ron, 23 September 2013 14:47)

and then we have:
Nope. EULEX and UNMIK are not the same.
(Ron, 24 September 2013 17:46)
So I take back my first comment, go ahead and dismiss what Ron says as he really has no clue.

Please fellas, don't mind Ron 1244R. He/she still thinks that ;UNMIK is governing Kosova like it did till 2007.
(the truth, 23 September 2013 17:53)

My friend,

Then please tell me when UNSC resolution 1244 was changed or replaced? Give a a link please. I am curious!
(Ron, 24 September 2013 17:47)
