When I used to reside in Bathurst,New Brunswick I had this phys ed teacher back in 7th & 8th grade who I found out that years earlier was providing basketball lessons to this student who's like a friend to me and at some point the student accidentally hit my former phys ed teacher's finger(s) with the ball but despite it being accidental the teacher decided to retaliate by tossing the ball at that student but the ball missed and another incident involving this teacher is that I found out by a former schoolmate is that some other student punched the same teacher in the mouth causing his lip to bleed and I wonder how did this teacher handled it? After all he was a bit assertive and/or impatient.

Also in what was then junior high school I remember running and being chased around in class and my industrial arts teacher firmly tells me to "sit!" and made the remark of someone getting their a**es kicked and I finally recall that in 8th or 9th grade my French teacher scolded some student and the student mocked him so out of anger the teacher abruptly approached the student's desk and kicked his desk and said to him something like "Don't ever mock me again!"

Finally the point I'm trying to raise is that if those students in Novi Sad were around in my time and if they resided in Bathurst,New Brunswick, Canada and had my former teachers as theirs I don't think they would get away with assaulting them even if these teachers cannot physically retaliate against them.

geeze, I was wondering when you were going to take this opportunity to talk about printing dinars and monetary policy.

Why do I post here? Why not? Until 95% of the people that post on the english side of b92 and also unlike yourself, I actually live in Belgrade, so this is one of the few "local news" sites at my disposal in english.

Why are you here? every other site on earth kicked you off for being boring about "banksters" (ie Jews) and how all national economies can be saved by printing money on ever single post?

What’s the purpose of you comments on this site? I understand the participation of Croats who feel better about their miserable lives when they spit bile at Serbs. And I understand the comments of Albanians who want to justify their land-grab by inventing stories about their “persecution” in the former Yugoslavia. But what about you, an American kid hiding behind a Serbian name, why are you here?

As I have mentioned in previous posts, the American government creates as many dollars as it needs to finance its imperial ambitions. With this money the American government employs thousands of young American wastrels to trawl the Internet and comment in ways that are either pro-US imperialism or anti-US rivals. Are you one of the government-financed posters? If so, your employers are certainly not getting value for their money.

“You're the one that took the time to make this all about your favourite subject - homosexual men.”

You have now shown your true face. Your previous advocacy of the Serbian Gay Pride parade was, as I said, a political position which had nothing to do with respect for the rights or well-being of Serbian homosexuals. You clearly have no respect for homosexuals and consider them to be a suitable target for your juvenile sense of humour.

This comment and previous ones aimed at me are truly “homophobic.”

It doesn't matter to most homosexuals don't care what a poorly educated American school-boy like you thinks about them, but it should be pointed out that you are a hypocrite. You demand of upright and moral Serbians standards of behaviour which you can never achieve.

Geeze, Micheal... It's kinda too bad that this old guy got beat up by a bunch of kids, isn't it?

I witnessed such an incident once in North America a couple of years ago - a bunch of young girls (around 10,11) swarming and beating some random innocent for no reason. It was very disturbing. What do you do, start beating these young girls?

That was my intention in commenting on this article. Whatever weird issues you have about gay men is your problem. Not sure why you're making this all about that and the upcoming Belgrade Pride parade.

Geeze, Michael. I was thinking more along the lines of, "how terrible that kids would mob-assault an older guy" and how this was an example of a kind of clockwork-orange-esq nihilism we're going to see when people don't have much hope for the future.

Jumping to conclusions?? I said two words - "holy crap!"

You're the one that jumped to all sorts of conclusions of what you think I must have thought and took the time to make this all about your favourite subject - homosexual men.

What BR49 sais is really ridiculous, His not intelligent but very common view is: homosexual = not a patriot. Which also reads like this: all non homosexuals are patriots. Which is ridiculous. Like the opinion of BR49.

This act of the children is a result of a pathology of Serbian society. It has nothing to do with "western values" or "EU values" or whatever idiotic reason people can think as a name (perhaps UFO values) in order to avoid the truth. The truth is that these children acted like this because they were told that it is bad being homosexual (along with anything else that makes people different). They were also taught by their teachers and parents that it is ok to attack and kill those whose their opinion, clothes, sexual orientation is not in accordance to your taste. This is a reflection of Serbian society, not the EU. So get real and face your own demons instead of blaming an international conspiracy.

About the attack - it is shameful. Children or not, they did it. They must face justice.

This is what you get when you want to join the EU. Your children start behaving like their western ill-disciplined riff-raff role models. This was unheard of in pre-civil war YU.Basically the west started the war there to destroy not only YU but to remove any vestiges of correct and moral behaviour in the next generation.Unless you fight back they will succeed.

I'm sure there would be less "homophobia" in Serbia if homosexuals in Serbia showed their patriotism once in a while instead of toeing with foreign interests at every turn.

There you have it Danny-Boy, proof that Serbia is a homophobic, Fascist society. Of course you didn't need any further proof to convince you of that.

The fact that there is no indication from the story to suggest that the poor teacher was a homosexual, or that this gang of teenage thugs were Serbian, shouldn't stop you from jumping to conclusions.
