We have to tighteen our belts and start working but first we have to change our way of thinking and the results will be seen soon!

A young financial dream team with its energy should bring changes that we need the most and it is a way of thinking, just like Lazar said.

I got it... So, Serbia is currently the best country in the world since it has not joined yet the rest of the world as another nation of debt slaves :)
(icj1, 5 September 2013 05:41)

Unfortunately Serbia has not used its Dinar to revive the economy. Instead it allows the IMF, World Bank, BIS, and private western banksters to control Serbia's money supply.

However, Serbia still has its own currency and could tell these foreign crooks to go to hell. This is not an option for Greece or Cyprus or indeed anyone in the euro zone.

So Lenny, it'd now Serbias fault Croatia is bankrupt. You guys can't just let us go. You are obsessed. It's not healthy. You should worry about the 16 billion euros you have to pay, and take responsibility for your own actions. You are a child.

If the Serbian government controls the Dinar, then Serbia has a future. If it gives control of the Dinar to foreign bankers, then it will join Greece, Cyprus and the rest of the world as another nation of debt slaves.

Anybody taking my Economics 101 course can easily learn the basics of having a successful economy but certain traits such as hard work, discipline, productivity, creativity, ambition are more indigenous to societies where these traits are embedded in the culture such as Germans and Chinese.Serbs are much more productive living in countries where these traits are the norm than they are in Serbia itself.
(luciano, 4 September 2013 19:09)

I agree. Serbs as a people have an innately good business aptitude; the ones living in the diaspora are often very hard working, very entrepreneurial and, generally, pretty financially successful. There was a strong free market spirit during the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, so unfortunately that local spirit was dulled during the commie times and they're still slowly recovering.

What happened? In his pictures from America he looked like a very stable internationally accepted business person. One day in Serbia and he has to do the hair thing, the Milosevic, Mladic, Karadzic uncontrolled hair thing.

Serbia's standard of living has dropped http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-08-01/serbia-has-cash-to-last-through-september-deputy-premier-says.html to the year 1974 level and dropping ever more wake up people. The political mafia lie to the Serbs as they help them self's to whats left as they clean out the trough. Serbs need a total new mind set just heading down the path of oblivion of their own making. Still living in the old communist Yugo. When Serbs flocked to the communist party bureaucracy as good commies as high as 70% in ex Yugoserbia. When Serbs made only 30% of ex Yugoserbia. Same in Croatia Serbs were 25% of the despot Communist bureaucracy more then double their pop numbers warranted in Croatia. Serbs their is no free lunches anymore living off other ex Yugo country's populations but they just don't get it. You bankrupted ex Yugo in every way going on to bankrupt your own morally and in every other way bankrupt Serbia. The only good thing Serbiayugo has now to pay the majority of the Serb commie pensions their is always a silver lining.

"Krstić said that a lot has to be done in changing the way the state apparatus, and also each individual, thinks.
He is right of course but I am skeptical, after all you can't teach old dogs new tricks."
(T, 4 September 2013 10:50)

I agree, so a better chance for success is to find a way to replace them with new dogs ...

Well, competition is a good thing but there is not such thing as a free market since some are more free than others. The danger is that a transfer from a State dominated society towards a transnational dominated society will be made. This will wipe out local production and Serbs will not own anything, just like the Croats don't own anything in their country anymore. Privatization and liberalization promises competition which will lead to better services and cheaper prices but everywhere they introduced it it has lead to exactly the opposite for it leads to monopolization, forming of cartels and price fixing.
Expect "structural adjustment programmes" leading to lower pensions and public salaries (if even possible) to lower the national budget, the Dinar even becoming less worth (supposedly to increase export but making imports more expensive) and rising interest rates (to fight inflation but making loans for national companies very expensive leading to bankrupty).

"Krstić, who was until recently an associate in McKinsey & Company, a consulting firm based in New York, said that his ministry will be composed primarily of young experts with experience in leading international companies."

Perhaps those Goldman Sachs experts who advised the Greek government are available?

Seriously, the real issue is who controls the money supply and not which experts they choose.

If the Serbian government controls the Dinar, then Serbia has a future. If it gives control of the Dinar to foreign bankers, then it will join Greece, Cyprus and the rest of the world as another nation of debt slaves.
