Syrian president warns of "failure" of possible intervention

Only silly minded people can motto CNN/Fox mantras about the evil doctor with an English diploma. I am far from angelizing the Assads including the late one and his two fighting sons. While most of the posters here are as brave as long is the distance to the battle field. Today the Assads are the only hope for all the Syrian minorities for survival. This is why the Christians the Shia the Sunni Kurds and the rest stand that firm for him. This man is saving more of the Christian and Muslim lives than the estimated 100 000 dead bodies. His country has been attacked by the Ihvan-ul-Muslimins now defeated in Egypt and by the US sponsored Al Qaeda. So what else can a noble man do but die with his people ?

Yes the decision for the US attack has been taken months ago and they only needed a pretext. No matter that Assad was the last man to need this chemical attack he will be blamed and we are to witness the Libyan scenario soon. With 300 000 experienced and brave army on Assad’s side the Nobel Peace Prize holder won’t dare for a land operation. Very likely it will be a Japanese/Serbian/Libyan scenario to kill more foreigners with minimal losses. The Yanks will thus make another hero whose name will inspire Anti-Americanism for decades. But Ian and other poor minded and depended people need no of view of their own coz CNN will tell you who is the bad guy. Some day your turn will also come be sure !

2) Assad knows that the West could use any pretext to interveine in Siria

So does it make sense for Assad to use chemical weapon?

Assad warning against an intervention means he doesn't want an intervention and he'll say anything to prevent one.

To be honest, no one wants an intervention in Syria and Assad should do the decent thing and step down, however he'll do anything to retain some form of power, regardless of how many people are killed due to his stubbornness.

Assad denying the use of chemical weapons and blaming it on the rebels is a load b******s because Assad's forces are the ones which have chemical weapons not the Syrian rebels.

Russia has the power to remove this man.

In fact Ian, Assad was not a "mate" of Saddam Hussein. Syria and Saddam's Iraq were enemies and Syria fought on the U.S side in Gulf War I. 'Liberated' Iraq is actually backing Assad in this war!

As for chemical weapons, Assad certainly has them but so do the rebels and its been proven that they have used them. Funny isn't it, that everytime this Syria goes quiet in the news, something like this happens and at really key moments like when weapons inspectors are present.
