Res.1244 also doesn't allow Kosovo to be a separate country and yet here we are, separate and recognised by most NATO member states. Once NATO in who is going to throw them out?
(Peggy, 9 July 2013 23:19)

Well, Serbia thinks otherwise... And I don't mean the current traitorous government, but Slobodan's very patriotic one which said (on video) that UNSCR 1244 opens up the possibility of the secession of KiM from Serbia and the FRY.

"During question time in parliament on Tuesday, he said that the agreement makes it possible for the Albanian military to be present in Kosovo and Metohija, and asked whether this means that that they will be able to "stay in north Kosovo and finish the job that the Kosovo forces cannot.""

Come on, he should calm down and probably read and be inspired by the comments of the true Serbs patriots in these forums that Serbs are heroic and macho and the coward Albanians are no match for them. So there is nothing for him to worry about.

Everything is permanent until it is supeseded by something else. Now what superseded Res. 1244?
I do agree that the latest agreement is heading in that direction but you cannot say that Res 1244 doesn't matter any longer.
(Peggy, 11 July 2013 01:20)

I suppose I'm going to have to repeat myself again.

Kosovo's independence followed UNSCR 1244.

UNSCR 1244 doesn't say that a unilateral decision is forbidden. In fact it doesn't even say that both parties have to agree on Kosovo's final status, this is why Serbia tried to unilaterally finalise Kosovo's status and failed.

I can say that UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more and I have said it!

(Peggy, 9 July 2013 23:19)

Where in UNSCR 1244 does it say Kosovo isn't allowed to be a separate country? It says that Kosovo is to be a sovereign part of FRY under UN governance whilst Kosovo's final status is to be established. UNSCR 1244 doesn't say that Kosovo's final status has to be mutually agreed and nowhere does it say that a unilateral decision is forbidden either. Serbia already tried to unilaterally finalise Kosovo's status with their 2006 constitution, look where that got Serbia with Kosovo. And if what Kosovo did wasn't legal, then why doesn't someone do something about it? Not a single world organisation or court will ever rule that what Kosovo did was illegal because it wasn't.

Where you went wrong, is that you considered UNSCR 1244 to be a permanent guarantee and it wasn't/ isn't. Even Serbia realises that now. UNSCR 1244 is so pointless these days, Serbian politicians don't even bother to mention it anymore.

If you ask me why I think it's natural (though some may be in disagreement) that a Albania-Kosovo deal is or can be in the "works" so to speak is because these countries can naturally feel a kinship with one another even though it was Serbia(not Albania) that was Kosovo's "parent" country.Think about it the Albanian language is the official language in both of these countries,in the duration of the Kosovo conflict of the late 1990s I believe that numerous amount of ethnic Albanians fled to Albania to escape the conflict and that Albania is one of the nations that recognize Kosovo's sovereignty.

Everything is permanent until it is supeseded by something else. Now what superseded Res. 1244?

I suppose I'm going to have to repeat myself again.

Kosovo's independence followed UNSCR 1244.

UNSCR 1244 doesn't say that a unilateral decision is forbidden. In fact it doesn't even say that both parties have to agree on Kosovo's final status, this is why Serbia tried to unilaterally finalise Kosovo's status and failed.

I can say that UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more and I have said it!

I'll repeat it again for you.

UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more!
UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more!
UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more!
UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more!
UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more!
UNSCR 1244 doesn't matter any more!

To resident of Fredericton,New Brunswick,Canada....

I have asked you if you where 12 years old because it seems as if you came out of an egg explaining why you thought it was natural for the same people to unite and live in the same country, this way you have described the all crucial problem and the wars in the Balkans...

@Vlad:

Am I 12 years old?? No I'm not so therefore I'm not sure why you are asking me such a rather unusual question.

Res.1244 also doesn't allow Kosovo to be a separate country and yet here we are, separate and recognised by most NATO member states. Once NATO in who is going to throw them out?
Res. 1244 is not worth much these days when it comes to NATO.

Serbian government has signed Kosovo away. It's going to take some time to condition Serbs to it, but it has already happened.

I am not talking about those sellout governments who go against their people's wishes. I am talking about the population of those countries.
Stop embarrassing yourself.

Well, Serbia thinks otherwise... And I don't mean the current traitorous government, but Slobodan's very patriotic one which said (on video) that UNSCR 1244 opens up the possibility of the secession of KiM from Serbia and the FRY.
